Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It was not the first time Miya had encountered a vampire - her first roommate having been one, she knew not all creatures of the night were necessarily bad. Yet, the woman being entirely new to the realm of supernatural she still had a hard time wrapping her head... well, everything. Although, Arlo had been an amazing roommate, brief as it had been - Miya had still been attacked in the night by another vampire - narrowly being saved by a stranger. It seemed like a distant memory until Dareios announces he was, in fact, a vampire. The petite woman couldn't help the way her body freezes in fear - she shouldn't judge him based on what he was and yet that night came to the forefront of her mind. Dareios had been nothing more than a gentleman all night and through the morning and her she was, the weak sun filtering through the windows, frozen to the spot as her chocolate eyes watch him.

Her breathing comes in fast pants as her gaze glazes over as she loses herself in that night. She hardly hears his response as she twists her hands nervously, head bowed slightly looking at his feet. Only does she snap out of her trance as his cold fingers caress her bare arm. Her body stiffens at his touch and she desperately wants to flinch away but she his immobile. Her gaze rises slightly to meet his, eyes wide with confusion and fear. Of course he wasn't going to hurt her! How absurd she was being! And yet... she knew deep down that it wasn't going to just dissipate, she had hardly any experience outside her own species. Its as if her eyes meeting his gives the man courage as his cold fingers slip down to hers and what he does next throws Miya entirely off kilter.

The gentle grasp of his fingers on her hand, only to lift that very hand to caress his cheek. Stumbling forward slightly, she looks up at him just as her palm caresses his cheek, a shudder going down her spine at how cold he was. She watches him, a tinge of curiosity flaring in her gaze before she closes her eyes briefly. Releasing a deep breath, one she wasn't aware she had been holding, she shivers at the predicament she had found herself in. "You're... freezing," she whispers quietly just as her eyes slit open. Gently, she pulls away her hand away finally as she folds her arms around her stomach. "I'm sorry, I've only just learned about vampires and shifters and well... everything outside of humans and if I'm being honest, it absolutely terrifies me," she admits, not meeting his gaze. A chill covers her as the sunlight disappears, swept behind thick cloud. "I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't really know anything and I'm a bit prejudiced when it comes to the supernatural," she says, her cheeks flaring red once more.

It wasn't easy to overcome those fears, those ideals that every book out there ingrained in your mind. Vampires were supposed to be evil, murderers in the dark, caring only to satisfy their thirst. Another shudder races down her spine at the thought, her chocolate gaze rising to meet his once more, "You're not going to eat me and bury me in your backyard, right?" She meant it as a joke and yet her words came out a little shaky, more so than she cared to admit.
