Anacosta Heights

Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

On the rare events she was actually inside Serafina's home she didn't feel off or as uncomfortable as she did now. Being inside the house she felt unusually cold and off-putting especially when she was standing within the stuffy kitchen. The odor within the room was strong and it was quite overbearing for one who belonged to a species that had a superior olfactory system. The taste of the potion she took a sip of tasted quite disgusting and she was thankful she couldn't experience the aftertaste. It was an indescribable flavor and she did not wish to attempt to drink it again. Bringing her left hand to cover her mouth as she coughed, she noticed how still the witch stood, as if she were a feline ready to pounce on her prey. Puzzled as to why the raven-haired woman would look this way to her she was about to ask why, but stopped herself as she heard the disgruntled sound coming from the witch as she turned around to busy herself with some other bubbling broth.

Managing to slip out her inquiry she took a few tentative steps over towards the kitchen table and pulled out the chair gently, placing herself on it, and the small up with the vile contents on top of the table. Quietly she sat watching as the woman began to stir whatever new brew she had on the stove. Uncomfortable and uncertain with why she was here she brought her fingers together and began to curl and twirl her fingers around in a nervous manner. Unable to stare at Serafina's back any longer she just stared at the floor not noticing that her cup was taken and cleaned out. Only when she heard the cup's dull thud hit the table did she shift her eyes back to Serafina and to the new drink she needed to swallow. Eyes would narrow for a moment as she looked at the purple thin liquid the scent of this one even worse than the other and for a moment she would grit her teeth not really wanting to go through with it.

Picking up the cup she titled it slightly eyeing just how much of the liquid was in the cup before she made her attempt. One eyebrow was raised when the witch stated the obvious about the contents inside the cup, but one look from Serafina and she deiced to hold back a sarcastic response. Just as she was about to taste the new drink, she paused for a moment and quickly set the cup on the table. Raven wasn't quite sure why Serafina would want to break the connection, in her opinion and from what she read in books, she had done a fine job being her familiar. Feeling uncomfortable with the raven-haired witch's glare her eyes shifted back to the cup, with a reproachful look, as she cautiously asked the witch why she would want to terminate their bond.

"But I kept you safe, but you keep getting yourself in troubled spots. You have that Dark Hunter around you, and you hardly ever listen to me when you should. By familiar standards I'm doing well, but why would you want to break it? Haven't I done what a familiar is supposed to do?"
