Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

kissing death and loosing my breath
For years Serafina had wondered what life would be like without her mentor's presence. He had become so engrained within her life over the years. He had given her a house to live within. He had given her the job she worked at and he taught her everything she knew about the world she lived in. She owed him so much and yet, she'd come to dispose him equally as much. For whatever reason, Serafina found herself willing to leave her entire life behind at this exact moment if it meant the life of one wolf surviving. She knew what a familiar was, she'd read about them in books, in her research about what she was supposed to be. She'd considered, in her youth, what it might be like to have one and now that she did it certainly was nothing like she thought it would. She'd imagine a familiar to be her best friend, a creature she could always depend upon, one that'd curl up beside her at night, one that'd protect her when she needed it, one that would be there for her when she was lonely. Her mentor's explanation of the relationship between the wolf and witch certainly served to explain the peculiar connection between them. It explained why Serafina tolerated the lupine, especially when she was certain their personas were starkly different. Still - she hadn't seen the wolf since she'd healed the girl from their fight in the woods. It seemed...odd to her that somehow they had formed a bond built on blood and magic. It was certainly not at all like the relationship she dreamed of.

Either way, Serafina had turned, determined to drag the wolf from the scene and to safety if she could help it - that was until the unexpected occurred. She was frankly, quite impressed to find her mentor able to use two of his abilities at once. It was something entirely new to her and left the young woman standing there with her mouth opened in awe. Her grey tinged gaze shifted from the warlock to the flattened lupine settled upon the ground, clearly experiencing her own form of hellish torture. If there was anything Serafina hated - it was this feeling of utter uselessness. She had no way to help Raven, no magic power to stop him. She could only stand there and watch as he fulfilled the promise he'd made to her. A frown marred her features and desperate the young witch looked around for something to assist in some manner. Abruptly the girl reached out to grab a large stick, her hands wrapping around it solidly. She let Raven be her distraction before swinging it towards the man's head, hoping that maybe her aim would be true for once.

Unfortunately for young Serafina, her mentor's capabilities went far beyond his muttering his spell and fighting with the wolf. Her branch never once touched the man, instead flung from her fingertips across the yard where she too quickly followed. She landed with a thud, her cheek scraping against the sidewalk. A groan left her lips as she slowly picked herself back up, unwilling to simply let her wolf die without some effort on her part. Unbeknownst to her, it seemed the lupine was hardly as willing to die either. The moment her grey tinged gaze shifted back towards the duo, Serafina was in shock to find the man's neck within the wolf's mouth. She watched in silence as silence filled the void, her mentor's body still only for the lupine to settle quite abruptly upon the grass. She heard Raven's voice brush across her mind but the young woman failed to answer. Instead she slowly rose to her feet, crossing the distance between them to press her fingers around what was left of his bloody neck, searching diligently for a pulse. Her grey tinged eyes swept the front of the houses that surrounded them, knowing all too well they would have to move fast if this was going to remain a secret. "He's dead." Her voice was a soft whisper, a frown brushing against her features. "Help me get him to the car." She muttered, turning from his body to bounce up the stairs and head straight into the house, searching for the keys to her mentor's vehicle. They couldn't leave him in the front yard and she was determined to keep the life she'd built for herself.
