East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

for the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey
her speech is smoother than oil
but in the end she is bitter as wormwood
sharp as a two-edged sword
her feet go down to death
her steps follow the path to Sheol

- PROVERBS 5:3-5;;
The young witch was all too used to the peculiarities of the shop to find the small hairy object moving upon it's own. In truth, she knew very little of the vast objects Karl brought back to fill the store shelves. Her only job was to ring up the customers and create the potions he'd long ago taught her to mix. She offered the man a half hearted shrug at his sidelong glance, in truth she was hardly knowledgeable regarding everything upon their shelves - but that was the very reason the young girl was under the strict tutelage of her mentor, even if he seemed to choose not to be present as of late. Her grey tinged gaze noted the ease at which he went for his cigarette's, her eye brow raising ever so slightly in the process. Wasn't there some kind of law that you weren't to smoke inside? Something about air quality? Not that it really mattered in this space, everything either smelt of antiques and dust or some overwhelming scent of whatever potion she had set about to brew. She'd tried to cover it all up with incense once - but that had turned into a disaster all on it's own. Sometimes, it wasn't always beneficial to work in a place where everything did exactly what it claimed to.

She let the silence grow between them, simply watching him as she leaned against the counter, watching his crystalline gaze roam over her little piece of the earth. Serafina was hardly disturbed by the sarcasm that laced his voice at the mere scent of her latest creation, causing the girl to shrug her shoulders ever so slightly. "I'm sure I could make a death potion smell like cupcakes if you'd like." She replied, hardly missing a beat what so ever. Scents were easy to fabricate, far easier then the intent of whatever elixir he wanted. Serafina allowed her head to rest upon the palm of her hand, her gaze intently watching the man as he spoke, her thoughts drifting from her duties of customer service. She could tell he was some kind of business professional - probably a corrupt one at that. It was a shame really, because he was rather pretty when he wiped the scowl from his face. "Mmhm..." She replied and though her response was almost immediate, the young girl wasn't entirely attentive of just what was going on, too caught up within her own thoughts. In truth shed rather be wrapped up in her own fantasies then have to deal with uptight gentleman demanding his so called "privacy".

"It's not like I leave a calling card in my potions." Serafina muttered under her breath, clearly offended by the notion that she was incapable of being discreet. Her gaze trailed after him as he sat within an empty chair, a soft sigh upon her lips as she shifted uncomfortably. No one but her mentor had ever watched her work before. She hated such 'rush' orders - in fact, she'd out right denied more then one, claiming they should have thought about it sooner. Serafina fidgeted for a moment with the fringe of the paper in front of her. "Such assurance is going to cost you extra." She heard herself saying, even as she considered all that such potency would include for her. "What is it you want?" Serafina inquired, her body shifting ever so slightly to still keep him square within her gaze. "I'm not saying yes yet." She warned him, her aptitude within her concoctions often allowed the young girl to choose the clients she wanted and frankly she wasn't yet sure the pretty face was worth the price she'd have to pay to satisfy him.
