East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha Cassidy

For a moment, Samantha was entirely content to let the panther go towards whatever threat it was that she couldn't quite figure out. She allowed her gaze to fall away from the feline to the arrow that lay beside her. She'd previously thought that the arrow had been silver, though as she inspected it closer in the dim light it was more than clear that it was iron. Whatever had shot that arrow had not meant to merely harm her, but to kill her. She gazed down at the bloody skin on her arm. She had been lucky, perhaps, that the arrow had not hit her any closer to her heart. As it was, it had merely grazed her skin, leaving a bloody, burnt patch in it's wake. It throbbed with every movement, but she hardly had time to inspect it before she saw the feline figure move.

And very suddenly, it wasn't the panther that she had considered safe at all that was standing in the dark alley with her. Instead, she saw the scene change into the very vision of her nightmares. "No," Samantha uttered in disbelief as the very faeries that had turned her seemed to step out of the shadows and surround the area. There they were, and the visions of the week she'd spend as their toy before they'd turned her into the very thing she hated plagued her. She'd spent the few short years since she'd turned struggling to forget what had happened to her, to attempt to live a normal life. And here they were to make her to remember. To force those memories that made her want to run screaming. It hardly mattered to the young fae girl that they seemed to be moving away from her out of the alley, the terror that it had ignited in her was enough to send her scrambling backwards, her back pressed against the brick wall as her hands reached for whatever kind of weapon she could get her hands on.

In her panic, her fingers closed around the iron arrow, instantly burning the palm of her hand. She let out a howl of pain as she dropped the object to her side. Samantha's chest felt heavy and there was a certain tightness that stole her breath. It was perhaps her worst fear to be cowering in a dark alley with the faeries near her. She'd told herself - sworn to herself even - that if she ever encountered them again, it wouldn't be without a weapon. And yet, here she was, alone and weaponless and injured. What a threat she could possibly be to them. In the hysteria that bubbled up within the girl, she was hardly able to pay attention to the scene at hand, instead she covered her face with her hands as though she could hide from the fear that felt as though it would eat her alive.

Samantha only opened her eyes again when the padding of paws near her alerted her. She removed her hands from her face, realizing only then the tears that streaked them - she hadn't even known if a faerie could cry. The faeries had been replaced once again with the feline, and Samantha immediately shoved herself up to her feet, pushing herself further against the brick wall as though she could escape. "What are you?" She breathed, hardly believing any more that the figure that had transformed into her worst fear could possibly be the seemingly kind Were that she'd encountered before. It hardly mattered that there was an arrow in his side at the moment, the after-effects of her fear only giving her the desire to run from the feline that was approaching her.
