East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

A soft sigh left Alexander's lips as he settled in the plush arm chair in front of his fireplace. His eyes closed briefly, his hand massaging his temples as he relished in the day's end. The small cafe had been uncharacteristically busy, a fact which normally would have brought some sense of pleasure for the man but today it had served as nothing but a stressor - a fact which alone was peculiar for Alexander. He was content to remain in his chair with a cup of tea at his side, that is, until the sound of the bell rang downstairs. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, a frown crossed his features as he slowly rose. Alexander was fairly certain he had turned the "open" light off. He made his way towards the staircase, pausing in the kitchen to grab a dagger before the Dark Hunter descended into the dimly lit cafe. His blue-green gaze was quick to pick up the figure of the man in the corner, his finger's delicately toying with the tarnished remains of Bucephalus bridle. His lips were stretched into hard lines, his discontent of the fellow's touching painted firmly on his face. Alexander's physic was taunt, ready for the attack as the man turned, his voice drowning out the silence.

His blue-green gaze narrowed in return, hardly bothering to comment on just the meaning of the horse bit - certainly not to a stranger. It hardly took the man longer to identify that the figure in front of him was supernatural. His otherworldly instincts were already urging him, begging him to force the blade held idly within his hand into the fellow's heart. What he hadn't anticipated, however, was the name that soon after fell from man's lips. Alexander had a spectacular memory, easily putting together the name with the ivory equine - the only one who had perhaps caught his interest since Bucephalus. Slowly, his muscles relaxed though even with a name, the dark hunter failed to find himself entirely at peace with his companion. Frost might have been willing to dub himself his horse but they both knew far too well that it was far from the truth. Bucephalus had been his horse. He had been a steed he could trust with his life. Frost? He could trust him no further then he could throw a cube of sugar.

His gaze shifted towards the container of sugar cubes the fellow had found and immediately seemed content to shove his entire hand within. Alexander's eyebrow twitched in a momentary show of irritability before he cleared his voice, ignoring the man's comment. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't touch things that didn't belong to you. Some of the things here are very old and I'd be remiss to loose them to your grimy fingers." He responded curtly, only bothering to even acknowledge Frost's original inquiry once he had made himself comfortable in an arm chair across the ivory haired were. "What do you want?" Alexander asked with a measure of exasperation in his voice. He knew all too well that Frost had hardly given up looking for his little token but his interest in the mounted brigade had waned entirely - except for his carefully plotted revenge on his old friend along with his rather excruciating death.
