East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The last thing Nadya wished to do was venture out of the Ark. She may be stir-crazy being trapped within it but it beat looking over her shoulder the entire time anticipating her very own stalker to be right there. It wasn't a matter that she had a choice in really. Nadya had received a call from Lyrica expressing some...discord at that burlesque. She had placed too much investment in the burlesque to let something like that go without investigation. So as soon as night fell and the fights began in the Ark, the panther slipped into the shadows of the city streets. There was a certain relief that the feline felt when the scrawled neon sign reading Cat's Meow loomed into view. For a moment Nadya sat in the shadows watching the front door as the bouncer checked people in, pleased at least to see that there were still customers. Quietly, Nadya circled around the large brick building to the employee parking and the steel back door there. The shift from her feline form into human took more effort, not wishing to leave the security that her predators form allowed.

The fearies within the building were in the throes of the night, the ones not currently on stage busying themselves in the back dressing room changing or applying their make-up. Their gossips were intermittently broken with giggles, the environment akin to a high school locker room than a business. Some extent of it was expected, the girls spent so much time together after all that bonding and creating a clique was natural. What had reached Nadya's ears wasn't. The bubbly gossip that filled the air came to a faltering hush when their eyes fell on a nude Nadya whom had entered from the back door. Nadya's dark chocolate gaze skimmed over them before taking a silk robe from the rack and slipping it on. "Nadya, you're...-" One of the girls was at a loss. Never before had they seen Nadya quite in the state that she was in, her hair less than perfect and not in her finest clothes. "You're back, right?" The fae backtracked quickly. Nadya quickly tied the sash around her waist, surveying the rather still group of fae's, "Lyrica called, there seems to be less work going on since I've been gone."

Confused and tight glances were shared throughout. Nadya's attention drifted to the other side of the room where the doorway led out onto the stage. "The next number is almost up." That was the last she'd say on the matter. Nadya would deal with them and their work etiquette later. She turned and strode out the other door that led to the customer floor. With that the fae's broke out of their stillness and began bustling again. Nadya, not dressed in a usual dancers outfit, was more or less overlooked by the customers as she skirted around the tables over to the bar. The bartender, however, did double take just as the girl's had. "Nadya-" for a moment he faltered but then offered a warm smile. "Welcome back. That new beer from Cancun you brought in is doing well." Nadya nodded though was hardly paying attention as she stepped behind the bar and reached up to take the bottle of Absolut Crystal Vodka. In the whole time of the man working there Nadya had never even touched a drop of the alcohol that they served. Mostly due to the fact that the first part of the business was her pregnant and the most recent being that she was breastfeeding. Now, the man was in shock as Nadya took the bottle and two shot glasses. "Tell the others I'm not to be bothered." And with that Nadya left the stunned man to escape the stairs leading up to her office.

The only way she was going to make it through this meeting was to drink, this Nadya was sure of. There was just too much to go over, too much plaguing her, that doing so in her sober human form would only lead to another forced shift. Nadya didn't knock before entering her office for why would she...it was her office. There wasn't anywhere else that she ever expected the fae girl Sam to be, knowing all too well that given the position that Sam held would be used to every extent to hide away from the other fae's. That wasn't what drew her from the steel walls of the Ark though. Nadya's gaze fell on Sam as she used her foot to swing the door closed behind her. "Some information has reached me that is...interesting to say the least." She waltzed over to the table to slide the two shot glasses across the desk. Nadya uncorked the crystal imprinted bottle, pouring a dose into each glass before setting the bottle down between them with a dull thud. "We'll need this first." With an odd emotional clash of amusement and pain a smirk tugged at her lips before she downed her shot and poured another though she remained standing in front of the desk with her free hand braced on the top of the wood.
