East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It wasn't often that Alexander felt the desire to go out of his way to be kind to others - at least not in the same fashion he currently did. Serving and customer service were not really his fortes, despite the industry he had found himself in. In truth, it was the coffee that had started this whole cafe fiasco -- and a lost bet. And then, Alexander had merely kept it going if only because it was simply something to do till something better caught his interest. After all, after a thousand years of life, spending a few years or so owning a cafe seemed...meaningless. In fact, Alexander had only just begun to contemplate the pointlessness of everything he was presently surrounded by when he was presented with the weight of the steak he'd cooked being shoved onto his plate. A rare glimpse of confusion crossed his stoic features, the man decidedly startled as the much younger girl settled across from him with a grin on her face and a rather weak explanation on her lips. "You can't eat meat...?" He repeated the words back to her, his baritone voice decidedly deadpan as if he was attempting to figure out if she was serious. Vegetarianism was one aspect of modern life that was rather lost on the conqueror.

Despite this, Alexander hardly offered the young woman in response, instead repositioning this slab of meat on his plate as he refocused upon eating the bit that was already perfectly cut. Alexander was entirely comfortable with the silence that persisted between the pair, hardly bothering to interrupt it as the girl eagerly shoveled the green vegetables and potatoes into her mouth with an enthusiasm that made his eyebrows raise ever so slightly. He waved off her apology with a gesture of his fork before sticking the steak in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully as she continued to discuss the book that had so enraptured her over the last few hours she'd spent within the confines of his cafe. In truth, Alexander had looked particularly little at the title she had buried her nose within. It had simply been an older looking black-blue bound hard back - the kind that had been well loved and looked more like a relic from a library then anything else. The title hadn't been printed in any kind of annoyingly large font and so, his interest, at least up until this point, had been startling little.

Now, however, things had changed -- slightly. Indeed, a small snort left the man's nose at her utterance of the 'greatest warriors and leaders throughout history'. "Please don't tell me they put Genghis Khan at the top of that list again, ugh, or worse, Ghandi." He couldn't help the way he rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed at even the mention of these two souls despite how widely they were regarded as being the greatest of their time. Alexander had never been particularly quiet on his thoughts of these two particular individuals, even going out of his way in years long past to disrupt Genghis' kingdom. Goddamned man had been just like his father and fucked half his own kingdom for crying out loud. The look of sudden agitation was quite clear upon the Macedonian man's features as he shoved another piece of steak in his mouth, falling into a bristly silence once again.
