Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The vampire had fretted over every miniscule detail of that evening, from the state that piano might arrive in fear of any chips or scratches on that polished surface to any hint of browning on those leaves or drooping to those flowers. That canvas, however, had bothered him far greater than perhaps any other of those details, the vampire certainly had gone through his fair share of 'rejects'. It had taken far longer than he cared to admit to become accustomed to the way that liquid cement like material flowed, much less the man's insistence to test how that paint might repel and how much of that material was required to create those stark lines he so desired. This piece, after all, was surely one they would remember for all eternity. This piece would have it's own place upon their walls to so immortalize that moment, assuming, naturally, that his lover said yes. A part of him knew that likelihood of being rejected was slim and yet, there was another portion of him that was equally inclined to argue every feasible reason in which his lover might say no. Giles himself had been forced on several occasions to prompt him to continue his preparations when those thoughts clawed too deeply into him - his night with Arlo hardly the first time in which he'd simply and quite suddenly given upon that that proposal altogether.

Somewhere amongst the end of those last few notes so sweetly dying back into the silence of the night and Dorian's silver hued irises falling upon that simply inquiry, those butterflies within his chest hand knotted together to fall like hard stones in the pit of his stomach. He was certain those moments of silence seemed to last for near an eternity. In fact, he was almost assured he hadn't been this invested and utterly terrified of the answer he might receive the last time he had proposed. It had been almost easy then, in comparison. His gaze shifted slowly from that canvas and towards his lover, the man hardly even letting a breath leave his lips as if spoiling that moment might somehow see the outcome fall in a direction not within his favor. His darkly colored eyes met his lover's own in the wake of that moment before that single syllable fell with such certainty from his lover's lips. How he had longed to hear that single word! How he had imagined what it would be like and yet, none of it quite got right the near relief that flooded him, that breath certainly audible as it left his lips before that near elation quite flooded his own system as Dorian near threw himself against the vampire's cold frame.

There was something so utterly right about that moment - about the way his body fit against Dorian's own as his arms so quickly moved to embrace the man. Somewhere along the way, the fae Monarch had become more to him then he thought anyone might ever be. It was almost natural, the way he dragged the King into his lap, that closeness so deeply desired in the wake of that question and the realization of what they now were. It was funny, how that simple change of a title brought a sense of permanence to that relationship. No longer was Dorian merely his boyfriend, no longer were they simply lovers. No, now there were plans for a future - plans for an eternity that felt somehow more substantial than they had before. Those words whispered against his neck tickled at his skin and yet, how he so loved to hear that simple admission, the man quite quickly returning that sentiment if only to ensure there were no doubts of his own feelings of the King. Dorian simply was the entirety of his world. So much of his daily life revolved around the man, besides those occasional needs to eat. He watched as the Monarch leaned away from him, wiping that wetness from those silver eyes he adored. He could hardly help that grin that had settled on his features, even in the wake of that emotion that so clearly beset his fiancé.

That press of Dorian's lips against his own was quite eagerly returned, the man unable to help that simple want to be affectionate within that moment, though he suspected the King would hardly fault him in the slightest for it. Those extra kisses were stolen with that same desire before the vampire leaned back ever so slightly. Though the hard part was certainly over, that proposal was hardly finished. It was that knowledge that prompted him to pull from his pocket that item he'd been carrying all day, that black velveteen box almost unastonishing in and of itself and yet, that color against that bright gold of that ring simply made that piece of jewelry stand out all the more. He was well aware of that simple feeling of his lover's heart beating somehow faster at the sight of that ring, the vampire reaching into that box to pluck it from that pillow only to offer it towards his lover. He had considered for some time if it would be appropriate to provide a ring tonight, after all the social norms hardly applied to the couple, not that it had particularly bothered either of them in the slightest to date. Sebastian merely decided, in the end, to simply go with what felt right rather than fret over what was acceptable.

He watched as Dorian's fingers brushed against the surface of that ring before the man's attention seemed to shift towards those small sparkling diamonds. Though the current day and age tended to prefer larger stones in an effort to display weath, such a look hardly seemed correct for his refined Monarch. He watched as Dorian's attention turned towards that small piece of thread that ran along the inside, the Englishman himself capable of seeing where that thread that connected them entered that ring and where it left. Convincing the man to work with that magical material had been difficult and yet, somehow, it had all come together nicely. That assurance that Dorian liked it prompted that grin on his features, that kiss placed against his cheek hardly helping in the slightest. "I thought you might like to see it whenever you want." He commented of that very thread of fate that so bound them together. His dark blue eyes slowly shifted back upwards towards the man, the vampire entirely aware of that look of consideration upon those fair features before the King admitted that he hardly wished to wait for that ceremony to wear such a gift.

Sebastian nodded in turn, though he largely suspected the man's insistence that he merely wished to see it on was truthfully an insistence to keep that very ring on. He watched as Dorian lifted that ring to his finger, only to pause and offer it back to him. That simple sentence had a way of prompting a smile upon his features, that chuckle that left his lips was quite near warm as he took that ring from his lover and, in turn, reaching for that offered hand. He reached for that vibrating ring he'd once placed upon Dorian's finger all those months ago, sliding it from his lover's hand only for his own ring to quite suddenly fall completely and utterly still. The lack of that near familiar buzzing was almost disconcerting and yet, it was truly time to replace such a gift with one of far more importance. That golden band was gingerly slid upon the King's finger, the vampire pausing to reach for Dorian's opposite hand to place that vibrating ring upon his ring finger there, that steady sensation of Dorian's heart against his skin was felt again but moments later. It was only once that ring was where it surely belonged to be that his gaze turned upwards, eying that near beaming smile upon Dorian's features. Truly, he must be quite pleased with the way that golden band looked.

That insistence that Dorian would, in turn, have a ring made for him was met with a small shrug, the vampire hardly concerned in the slightest over his own. After all, he knew well it would come sooner or later and now that Dorian had finally said yes, little else seemed to matter. For so many months he had been near agonizing over this that the simple happiness that came with that singular word quite near eclipsed any other concern. "Whenever you'd like, love." He assured the Monarch, after all, these things took time, as he well knew. There was no need to rush such a thing. He watched as Dorian's fingers moved, as if becoming accustomed to that band only for those silver eyes to turn upwards towards him. That idle comment prompted a chuckle on his lips before he nodded in turn. "Yes, they know. Giles made the trip up here a few times to ensure everything was done correctly when they planted the flowers and flew in the piano. My staff here knows too, I'm sure they'll have wine for us when we decide to go in." He nodded briefly towards that home, those lights inside quite clearly lit with the ready anticipation of the couple and that answer the occupants were surely just as impatient for. "Emma, I kept in the dark..I thought about telling her but..." He shrugged, the man entirely aware of the woman's inability to keep anything from the King she so dutifully served.

It was that inquiry of the Frenchman, however, that prompted a glimpse of consideration across his features. "It is possible...I did invite him to visit and asked if he'd extend that invitation to Alexander as well...I don't know if either of them took me up on the offer though." That conversation with Dorian's father had been a point of great concern for the vampire, the man so often uncertain of where he stood with his soon to be father-in-law. Though that request for Matteo's blessing had been given, Sebastian was fairly certain that the man had made every effort to ensure he was properly nervous before he received it. That invitation to join them tonight had been, perhaps, far more important to him then he was willing to let on to the elder fae, as tentatively voiced as it had been. After all, in his youth, it had been instilled within him that family was everything, it was a sort of trait that still existed strongly within him even if his own family had long since died out and left him. Ensuring Dorian had the proper chance to connect with that estranged family had been important to him, even if the King had been rather hesitant at best.

His attention, however, hardly lingered long on such concepts in the wake of Dorian's question, that sound of his fiance's voice quickly drawing him. "Hm?" He inquired, watching the way in which Dorian's head tilted to the side in amusement. He hardly expected the words that fell from the King's lips, as obvious as they were and yet, he could hardly help the way his nose scrunched ever so slightly. "Yeah..." He commented, pausing to consider the last royal wedding he had even seen pictures of. It had been quite the affair of the year, and certainly far grander then his own wedding to his now deceased wife had been. Royal weddings were something else entirely, a monster that he had no idea how to even begin to conquer. "...maybe we should hire someone..." He stated after a moment's consideration. "I haven't the slightest idea how to even begin planning a royal wedding." It seemed funny to think about, really - a royal wedding. Dorian was far more to him then the King of Italy that it was often easy to forget the man was indeed royalty. He was so incredibly beneath the King's station, much less his birth and connection to a foreign nation. He was already certain the Italian media would certainly have a field day with that now that his position within the Italian courts was far more secured. The whole affair sounded like a headache in itself and yet, surely they could manage, couldn't they? He leaned forward, pressing his lips gingerly against the King's forehead. "I'm sure we can figure it out." He stated quite firmly, that confidence returning all over again.
