Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

She sensed that Nadya was nearby, probably outside lamenting over her flowers. Malia couldn't understand how it didn't occur to her that her horse of a boyfriend might just be the cuprit that was eating her plants. It's not like they had a lot of other herbivore Were's around. She turned her head as they came through the back door, Nadya with her two kids in tow. No matter the slight tension in her shoulders, Malia still couldn't help but grin when she saw the kids come running through. They were little bundles of energy and she loved it. Nadya herself even seemed amped up which made Malia raise a brow in curiosity as they all made it over to the blonde on the couch. Nadya practically threw herself at the other girl, shouting that she was back. Malia tilted her head and bit her tongue. So apparently she was the only one considered a stranger to this girl, not that she should be that surprised. Sure, it felt like she'd been with Frost's pack for a while but this girl was seemingly also gone for a while so they never crossed paths.

Of course, it would make sense that she would have relationships with the other members of the pack, everyone but Malia. She glanced toward Abigail who had suddenly turned sheepish. Well, at least she was the only one who could claim to know her. She smirked at the thought, her eyes glittering in amusement. Nadya seemed excited at the prospect of the girl's adventures, asking her to tell everything. Malia only scowled. Sure, it might be exciting to see the world and live to tell about it. She just didn't get the whole sacrificing close proximity to pack over it. Her gaze turned to the kids who seemed no less eager to see their pack mate back. Izzy started jumping up and down on the couch and Micah started rummaging through her bags. The corner of her lips quirked, unable to hide her humor at the kids. Then Nadya turned to Malia, introducing the girl as Scarlett. Malia made a "hmm" noise of acknowledgement, though she didn't move from her spot.

Nadya's own voice got a little more hesitant when she looked at Abigail, commenting that she brought company. Malia nodded and smiled, glancing at her new Were friend. "Yeah, this is Abigail. She's THE cutest in her Were form. You should see her!" She grinned at the prospect of all of them ohhing and ahhing over Abigail and then she remembered Abigail probably didn't know them either. She nudged her head toward Nadya. "Abigail, this is Nadya and her kids Izzy and Micah. And as you just heard, this is Scarlett." She nudged her head toward the blonde too, figuring she shouldn't leave her out. Something about Nadya seemed tense but she couldn't put her finger on it. Was she upset that Malia had brought a non-pack member to the house? She knew Abigail wasn't a threat. Hell, she wouldn't have brought her within fifty feet of the house if she thought that for even a second. She knew how protective Nadya was over her children and for good reason. Abigail couldn't hurt a fly; she was sure of it.

Abigail was taking everything rather well Malia thought. At first she had seemed confused when Malia first picked up on the pack bond pulling her to the house. But then, of course, Abigail wouldn't know that cause she wasn't pack. Malia hoped in time she could change that though. Abigail seemed like she would do well in a group. She would probably feel a lot safer too and wouldn't have to question every Were she came across if they were going to eat her or not, not knowing she'd have a whole pack at her back if she was ever in danger. Malia would make sure she knew that. She had seemed hesitant when Malia changed up plans but she'd gone along with it in the end. Malia felt better having her along. She was worried with this older member coming back that she didn't know, she might feel more like an outcast when they reunite, but at least she wouldn't be alone alone. She had Abigail. Malia had glanced back to check on her a few times on the way to the house. Abigail seemed more nervous the closer they got, twirling her hair around her finger.

Malia reassured her with a smile the best she could. "You're gonna love everyone, I promise. Nadya is very sweet and the kids are a mess, but the good kind, of course. Very energetic, always getting into something. Frost sets himself a part so I know you'll recognize him when he steps into the picture. He's our Alpha but don't worry, you don't have to bow to him or anything stupid like that. He's cool, and tries to act even cooler but don't let it fool you. He's actually pretty nice." She winked as they climbed the steps. When they stepped inside, she could feel Abigail go on guard but she felt better when Abigail used her discomfort to stay next to her. That must mean she felt safer around her! Or at least safer than with strangers. Malia took that as a good sign. Better than hiding from her up in a tree. She saw Abigail looking around with obvious curiosity and she smiled. "Yeah, the kids keep themselves busy." She offered in a soft explanation for all the toys, though she was sure Abigail would understand that in just a few moments.

She could tell Abigail wasn't at all comforted by her reaction to the girl they call Scarlett or Nadya who was eying her. She knew who would help sort things out and just as she was thinking it, he arrived. At least Abigail was trying, offering a very shy "hi" as she waved to Nadya. She had known he was in the house. She could feel his presence before she'd even walked in. Her bond with Nadya and Frost were pretty strong since she spent time with them so it was getting easier to know where they were most of the time when she felt for them. She felt like she was always learning something new about this whole pack thing. As Frost came down the stairs, she nudged her head toward him for Abigail's sake. "Here's the man of the hour, Frost. Don't worry, he doesn't bite. And even if he does, he always has flat teeth." She smirked at the last comment, her eyes twinkling as she teased her alpha, something she loved to do.

He looked over everyone before making his way to Malia and Abigail. She stayed where she was beside Abigail, hoping to offering her a sense of safety and comfort. He turned then to Scarlett, putting a hand on her shoulder and telling her it was good to have her home. Malia could sense the affection in the gesture. He must have been worried sick about her being away where he couldn't help her if anything happened. But there was no resentment in his body language, not unless he was hiding it extremely well, but that didn't seem like Frost's style. She quirked a brow, curious. She could sense his satisfaction in having everyone in one place though. He took a moment then to introduce Malia and she dipped her head as her name was called, doing her best to offer Scarlett a warm smile, before her gaze darted quickly to her alpha when he added his own little jibe about her inability to keep her thoughts to herself. She snorted and rolled her eyes before glancing back at Scarlett. "Nice to officially meet you, Scarlett."

She glanced back to her alpha when he introduced Scarlett, letting her know that Scarlett was a WereWolf and that she'd suffered a loss and wanted to see more of the country. Malia scowled thoughtfully. She wasn't sure how losing a member of the family made you suddenly want to get away from the only other kind of family you could have, or in her case, the only family, but hey, everyone grieves differently. Just the idea of having family to lose left a bitter feel in her stomach but she knew that wasn't Scarlett's fault. When he mentioned an affinity she would like, Malia raised a brow in interest. "Oh?" She glanced at Scarlett as if she would see what it was just by looking but of course, no luck. Then Frost turned his attention back on Abigail. When he asked Abigail if she was a friend of her's, Malia smiled, letting her do the talking this time, sure that the shyness would work itself out better once she got to talking. He held out his hand for her to shake and introduced himself before offering for her to stay with the pack for the day.

Malia grinned her approval. Then he made a comment about her hair and she quirked a brow. She'd never thought anything of it. She just thought humans always came in all shapes and colors, including the hair. At his question about Vikings, she snorted and rolled her eyes. "Well I didn't pick her up pillaging and raiding the local villages if that's what you mean." She smirked. She'd been watching her fair share of tv when she could so that's about all she knew about Vikings. When he was done talking to Abigail, he asked Scarlett about her trip. Nudging her head to Abigail, Malia moved to the other couch and took a seat, making sure there was plenty of room for Abigail to sit too if she wanted. It would just be awkward if they kept standing.

She could tell she'd taken Scarlett off guard with her abrupt nature. She had only picked up friendly excitement as they walked through the door but it had quickly dampened with her stand off body language and less than welcoming greeting. Maybe it wasn't really the pack way but Malia was too used to acting and saying what she felt and thought at the moment and she was taken off guard by the Were suddenly turning back up in their home like she'd been there all along. It took her for a loop. She had always known packs to stay together so why would someone leave? Scarlett brightened up considerably once Nadya and the kids got in the room thought. They hugged and Scarlett told her there was a lot to tell. At Frost's greeting, she told him she was glad to be home. She seemed genuinely happy to meet Malia when Frost introduced them. A part of Malia knew she should feel bad about her first impression but she couldn't find guilt in her heart. She would never leave her pack, abandon them to fend for herself. Why should she?

A part of her knew she was taking out her own experiences on Scarlett and that wasn't fair but it was too built into her. Pack was family. Pack was nothing without each other and one member didn't make a pack. They were stronger united. But then her train of thought got distracted by Izzy and Micah rummaging through the bags where Scarlett caught them, calling them little thieves but Malia could tell she held no malice for them. She gave in, saying they could have their presents now. Malia eyed the stuffed animals and water guns she gave the kids, glad to see the stuffed animal was at least fake with fake fur and stuff. That would have really irked her if it was real fur. She announced it was present time and started handing everyone stuff. Nadya got some kind of bracelet that looked very shiny but other than that, Malia didn't see a function in it. Frost got a box of sweet stuff. Malia could smell it from here and her mouth started watering. She almost said something about getting him a box of flowers instead but held her tongue. She had promised she would, after all.

When Scarlett turned to hand her something, Malia tensed, uncertain. Why would she have gotten something for someone she'd never met? While she was getting used to it from certain people, Malia was still sometimes suspicious of purely generous motives. She took the opal paw print necklace, turning the chain in her hand, eying it. Then she looked at the sweets and smirked. She knew she'd eat them in no time. She knew somewhat of manners so she smiled at Scarlett. "Thank you." Then she watched as Scarlett handed some sweet stuff to Abigail too. She grinned at her. "See? Perks of coming with me. Candy." She settled herself on the couch and started eating the candy right away, trying to make as little noise as possible while Scarlett leaped into her tales of her travels. She didn't want to say anything but she didn't know how to put the necklace on so she set it on her lap for now so Scarlett would know she didn't forget it. She figured she could put it in her room or something. It almost reminded her of a collar like she saw on dogs and she wasn't sure how she felt about that.

She listened to the names of the different cities, knowing her coyote pack wouldn't have gone within 100 feet of New York from the sounds of it. The DC place neither. She wrinkled her nose. Those places didn't sound very interesting at all. She did lean forward a little in eagerness at the tale of dolphins and manatees. She'd seen some on tv and they looked pretty cool. The manatees reminded her of hippos with fins. And alligators always looked like they'd be fun to tangle with. She perked up when Scarlett mentioned Yellowstone and wild bears, bison, and wolves and stuff too. Now that sounded like her kind of place. Nothing but wilderness. No humans for miles. She half listened when Scarlett talked about California cause Disneyland had too many crowds for her opinion. She'd seen the commercials. And zoos just made her angry. All those animal stuck in cages, meant to be looked at and poked at day after day, made for the entertainment of humans. It made her sick. She wanted to turn them all loose, let them be wild animals again, if they could even remember.

She mentioned a pack vacation and Malia glanced at Frost in curiosity, wondering what he thought of the whole idea. Where would they go? Hopefully not to a zoo. Then she might have to actually act out her plans to release all the zoo animals and tell them to be free. She glanced at Abigail too, hoping she was feeling more settled now. She offered a candy to her, just to be nice.
