South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. The University places a high focus both upon educating future generations but also on research to help revolutionize the world. The University welcomes the talent of students across the world to enroll and unlock their unlimited potential. With applications from across the nation, classes fill up quickly.

Tonight was a night for fun which was actually nothing new for Anna-Marie. When the dear child vampire wasn't supervised it was always a toss up about what kind of mischief she would get into that night. It was quite amazing some nights that she hadn't been caught by a Hunter yet. Or at least she one had some across her path they had been no match for her. There was something to be said about raw power with no strategic thought behind it...simply strike to kill.

Anna spent a better part of the early hours after sunset at the park as she normally did, briefly climbing about the jungle gym until she settled on the swings. They were her favorite, going higher and higher until she reached a point at just before she fell back down the chains would give that slack before gravity yanked her down again and backwards. It was a thrill to feel that brief weightlessness that if there was a lingering child from a family about would look on in envy. Not to mention the look of terror in said parents eyes if they witnessed her leaping with abandon from that tippy top point from the swing into the air. Of course the grace of her species and the ages she had spent on such an activity meant Anna landed in a perfect crouch every time several yards from the set only to skip back to the swing.

This particular night the playground didn't hold her attention for as long. The child was hungry and driven from her innocent play to a much darker one. In one easy smooth transition the child become a predator on the hunt. The playground was close to the park of which a path ran through the woods which many joggers and teenage hoodlums traversed at all hours. This was her favorite place to hunt. It was relatively secluded and allowed her to wait for someone she thought looked like they might be any fun at all. Anna stood stalk still at the base of a tree just off the path for nearly an hour, watching joggers and late night businessmen and women go by, none of which appeared appetizing or sparked that predator within. It wasn't until a young couple took up residence on the path did Anna's frozen posture shift slightly, her crystal blue eyes honing in on them. She disliked ooey gooey displays of affection...or any such behavior that could even be suggestive. They must go.

Anna slid out from her spot in the shadows to block the path a few feet in front of the couple, simply standing there looking at them. In what world was that normal to see? Of course the couple gave pause, the woman's giggles dying down to a confused look that matched her significant other. Their stride slowed to a halt as they seemed to stand off with the odd sight. All at once Anna hissed, baring her fangs and lunging towards them. This surprised the couple as they staggered back and made to run the opposite direction. Anna was well versed in the human ways and like a true predator rounded on them, maneuvering herself so their only option given their frantic attempt to escape caused them to dart into the forest. Perfect.

At first Anna didn't move from her spot on the path, in fact she was toying with them further, allowing them to reach a certain distance of them that would give them false hope. "1....2....3..4....5." Anna counted softly aloud before taking off after them. She was far from quiet as vampires were no ghosts, but she was much quieter than the crashing that the pair made as they plowed through the fallen leaves and sticks laden over the ground. The young man had his girlfriend's hand clasped in his, urging her own to run faster. "The edge isn't much further, come on...run!" Anna caught up rather easily to them, running into the man with enough strength to wrench him from the woman and cause him to topple to the ground. Her fingers twisted, ceasing up his muscles as she just as swiftly grabbed his hair and sunk her fangs into his neck. The woman screamed, staggering back only to fall and scuttle across the forest floor eyes wide as she witnessed her boyfriend be fed upon.

The woman finally gathered her wits about her and quickly rose to her feet and ran in the direction her boyfriend had attempted to get them to safety. Anna hurriedly gulped down a few mouthfuls of blood from her victim before using her same hand which had ceased his muscles to forcefully twist his neck, the audible snap and slump of his body indicating his death. No, Anna wasn't done...the chase was far too much fun to ignore. The child once more gave pursuit, her pale form like a ghost as she darted through the trees after the frightened woman. Her fear was so thick it was palatable, which in truth was the main reason Anna held her pursuit as fear and adrenaline were so much better than any other taste.

All was going well, Anna was hanging back just to keep the woman on edge...until the woman immediately stopped. Anna skidded to a halt, curious as all could be as the woman seemed to be thrashing and fighting against something unseen. When the vampire reached the woman she could see thin tendrils, weblike in their design which had caught the woman. "Just..just let me go, please." The woman began to beg to which Anna gave no mind as she circled the large curiosity. "Not mine." Anna answered simply upon closer investigation. "You got in an icky spider web. I don't like spiders." There was no way Anna was going to touch the web. She contemplated using her ability to yank the woman out but then there was that thought of there possibly being remnants of the web remaining on her. Oh the conundrum the child vampire was now faced with as she watched the woman struggle, debating on what to do.
