South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

The University of Sacrosanct

She could tell by the way that he was watching her that he didn't know what to think of her. Perhaps he'd never met someone like her before, but it was weird seeing as how she could tell that he was like her. She could smell the animal inside of him and didn't know why he wouldn't just let it come out. Surely they would have a much better conversation if he did. He seemed stubborn enough to stay in human form though and so instead she'd have to figure out how to best communicate with him this way. At least she could do more than growl or yip in this form. She could say what was on her mind and she didn't have to find a Were to be able to talk to them. Not to say that she wanted to talk to animals or something so far-fetched as that. But she could talk to humans. Maybe she could finally get some answers, at least until she figured out how to return to her original form.

His explanation of butchering only brought up more questions. She snorted.

"WHY EVER WOULD YOU WANT TO SKIN AN ANIMAL? THE SKIN IS ONE OF THE BEST PARTS! THE FAT STICKS TO IT AND GIVES IT JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FLAVOR."

She was confident in this knowledge, since she had been eating raw meat ever since she could remember. She didn't understand the whole cutting thing either. Was that just so you could share with others? Couldn't humans just tear off what they want like everyone else? Seemed lazy to her. Violence was not something she ran from. In fact, she enjoyed violence as much as anyone else, if not, more. As a coyote, everything was solved by aggression, whether a simple show of teeth would do the trick or if you had to all but kill another to get your point across. Sometimes violence was just the best way. For her kind, it was all they ever knew.

When she mentioned sandwiches, he laughed and she couldn't help but scowl. What was so funny? She didn't get it. But at least he said she could have as many as she wanted. Her lips tugged into a grin and her brown eyes lit up. Food was always a soft spot with her.

"GREAT, THANKS. BUT UH, YOU MIGHT HAVE SHOW ME HOW TO MAKE IT."

She had no earthly idea where the ingredients were in this place, let alone how to put them together into the delectable prize he made out for her. The beer bottle was a whole other story. How could he drink out of something that looked like garbage? She was used to seeing those bottles rolling across the street, discarded when empty and left to break and cut up her paw pads when she walked over them. She didn't trust them but since he was holding this one, it couldn't be so bad right? Plus he was putting it to his lips like something in it tasted good and she didn't see any new cuts on his lips. That must mean it's harmless...for now. At his question as to whether she wanted to taste it, she smiled and nodded vigorously before taking the bottle. Of course she wanted to try it! She had to try all the human things while she could so she would understand them better when she was a coyote again.

She put the bottle to her lips like she saw him do. She managed to get a little in her mouth before the rest sloshed down her neck. She gasped.

"IT'S COLD!"

She exclaimed as she dropped the bottle, barely hearing it crash on the floor as she danced away while running her hands down her chest. In her panic, she swallowed what little beer she had in her mouth and then she started choking and gagging.

"OH MY GOD...SO NASTY!"

Her eyes were watering as she bent over, trying to swallow past the taste. It was disgusting! How could he drink that stuff? She kept licking her lips, hoping to rid herself of the taste. She needed water but she didn't know if he even had that here. She glanced over at the pieces of the bottle all over the floor along with a pretty good sized puddle next to it. She actually felt a little bad about that. She slowly straightened up, wiping her mouth on the sleeve of his jacket.

"SORRY ABOUT YOUR BEER. I, UH, WELL I'D GET YOU ANOTHER ONE IF I KNEW WHERE THEY WERE."

She actually appeared to look embarassed this time. She still didn't get why he would drink something so nasty though. She glanced over at him when he suddenly spoke up, this time to introduce himself. Her lips tugged into a soft smile.

"I'M MALIA."

She knew that's what her pack mom had called her anyway and what the other coyotes called her. Her nose suddenly wrinkled as she looked down at her still soaked chest.

"UM, HENRY? IS THERE A CREEK OR SOMETHING I CAN WASH MYSELF IN? THIS STUFF STINKS."

Her senses were still on overdrive and the beer was assaulting her nostrils like nothing else. She had to get it off of her soon or she might start gagging again.
