South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Kato was grateful for the offered hut if only because it gave him time in order to prop their own up tomorrow instead of having to work on one this afternoon. He offered another sidelong glance at Edie when she spoke to the children, removing her hat for them to investigate her further. He had never seen her interact with children and her feisty nature didn't exactly lean him to believing she would like them bothering her so. Of course he knew she wasn't the type to be outright mean to them, he did expect some commanding of her personal space. So it caused a soft smile to grace his features seeing her tolerating and allowing their curiosity to be filled.

His mother's sudden presence was one that caused a slight shift in the air. She was the spiritual leader of their group and all eyes went to her naturally even though she didn't hold any official Alpha rank. It was good to see her again though and wrap his arms around her. It was solid evidence for him that she was still in good health and would ease his worries in preparing to leave to live a life with Edie elsewhere. Kato stepped back in order to introduce his mother and Edie. There was lightness to his tone but also hidden tenseness at its edges. It was important for him that the two of them got along. He was pleased in the least that his mother took note of his request for English...somewhat...and greeted Edie properly. It happened all at once then, his mother commenting about finding a rhino outside of Africa, his brother leaping to his feet to announce the celebration for the night...and Edie beginning to blurt out about her Were form. Kato uttered a quick farewell to his mother who looked in the process of being stunned about what she did hear coming from Edie and quickly took Edie by the shoulders and steered her away from the group.

It was a relatively short walk down the pathway through the other mud and thatch huts to the one that had been given to them for the night. Kato brushed aside the thin cloth that hung in the doorway that acted as the door. There were two other cutouts in the wall of the hut acting as small windows for air circulation. Inside of the hut was bare dirt floor, burnt logs in the middle for chilly nights, and a raised plank bed with a stitched blanket stuffed with soft grasses to act as a mattress. It was barely big enough for the both of them though was what could be expected for a bachelor hut. Kato dropped their duffel bag on the floor beside the bed and tossed their blanket on top of it. It wasn't the lifestyle he felt Edie was not only not used to but didn't deserve so it caused Kato to give a lop-sided 'you said you love me, you can't hate me' smile at her. "You don't have to clean anything?" It was his offer of a silver lining.

Kato couldn't really say he was blind-sided by Edie's sudden burst of emotion and questions. For someone not used to it, being amongst so many people could be overwhelming. Her lips upon his was wholly pleasing though it was out of place...the emotion not right. Kato gently grasped her upper arms and held her back at nearly arms-length. "My mother looks at everyone new like that. You're fine...it's just..." Kato sighed and rubbed at the back of his neck nervously. "Everyone here are rhinos...everyone that has been in our family have been...rhinos. You haven't exactly been upfront about your Were form to Frost, I didn't expect you to just blurt it out here." Kato slid his hand down her arm to lace his fingers with hers and lead her over to the bed. "Come." He pulled her down with him, wrapping his arms securely around her. Her queen sized bed at home allowed for space should they want in and cuddling was simply out of want but now in this much smaller space it was the only way they could sleep was pressed up against each other.

As he lay there gently stroking her arm he stared up at the ceiling and listened to the sounds from outside the hut. There wasn't really any noise barrier, what with there being no real door or windows. He could hear his brother talking animatedly to another man, hear the children laughing and playing in the square, and hear the bleeting of the zebra herd passing not too far from the village. "The children think you live on the moon." Kato commented lightly, glancing down at Edie with a smirk trying to suppress a chuckle. "Your skin, they think it's white because that's the color of the ground you lived on. And your hair-" He brushed his fingers lightly through a few stray strands. "flows as graceful as the grass in the wind. They're curious but they like you." He shifted so he was more on his side facing Edie. "It will take time for them to understand something that is so different and new but I know they will love you....because...Ke a go rata. I love you." Kato brushed his lips against Edie's before whispering, "Now get some rest."
