East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Anastasia Romanova
Anastasia had certianly not expected that this supposed "fugitive" Hunter would indulge a beautiful stranger quite as readily as most seemed apt to do; however, the reality that he would simply flee was... less than ideal given the inherent restrictions of her current attire and a characteristic and overall aversion to the idea of a pursuit. A repressed sigh is but all she offers as she surveys his abrupt departure, all but ignoring the befuddlement of the waitress as she meanders back towards her auburn-haired patron. Anastasia does naught more than pass the bizarrely-nervy girl a meticulously-folded bill before fastening the wool coat about her slender form and sashaying effortlessly towards the door through which her intended had taken his leave of her.

She could not deny some unmistakable and perfunctory contemplation bred of curiosity as to the nature and severity of whatever crime, real or imagined, this particular gentleman had perpetrated in order to earn himself the full attentions of this Council. His trangression must have been something notably heinous given the (now obvious) frequency with which they had attempted to have him "gathered". She had been offered very little in the way of information on the subject which, despite the inherent trepidation and circumstancial grievance, was to be expected. Anastasia knew she was being tried, being tested, and yet so too was she putting Sacrosanct's Hunter Council through its proverbial paces. More than a century had passed before her eyes and with it had come a striking plethora of knowledge and skill that would not be given over to benefit any organization or individual readily.

No sooner do the echoing clicks of her heels dissipate into the atmospheric nether then the Grand Duchess is presented with a greeting of sorts on behalf of this mysterious would-be rogue. "I haven't asked you to go anywhere, William. You would know that if you would have given me a chance to speak with you." Her tone, though pointed and precise, is not unkind; the syllables softened somewhat by the exotic lilt of her foreign tongue. A pregnant silence eeks into the space betwixt them, the Russian damsel noting the progression of the hour and the telling, deepening shade of the heavens. Soon the night's tenebrific blanket would be upon them and her pursuit, if he willed it to be so, would prove far more difficult given the effect it had upon her. And so does she venture down the avenue of a decidedly more direct approach. "What do they want with you?"
