East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He seems to take the order all in stride, nodding his head with a patient smile as he turns to go fix them. That's when the lights flicker and I'm bad enough about the dark without adding the storm into account. He seems frustrated, to say the least, his eyes sweeping upward toward the lights as if simply looking at them wil drive away the urge to go out completely. If only it were that easy. When the door bursts open in a strong gust of wind, I jump in my seat, fragile fingers clinging to the hood draped around my shoulders as I contemplate pulling it back over my head. Having something wrapped around me seems to help somewhat with the fear. A grunt drops from the man's lips as if it's just a mere disturbance but I don't get time to contemplate his reaction further before I gain a whiff of his cologne and an important insight into just what kind of patron is serving me today.

My voice wavers as it escapes my lips and I know I must be letting Raven down wherever she is right now. All those lessons on defense and not cowering anymore and here I am shivering in a cafe while a hunter is going to get me a donut and hot cocoa. My eyes graze over his strong sturdy figure, sure that he could block the door and my escape in an instant if he wanted to. I wonder how fast he can run, though. Probably not as fast as me. Did he know what I was before I came in here? Was he waiting for my guard to go down before he could make his kill? The thoughts could haunt me for hours as I go over different scenarios in my head but I brush them away to come back to the present, my whole body hard wired to run at this moment as I wait for his response. He seems to contemplate the answer for a while before he confirms what I already know, though my brows twitch some at the tone in which he delivers the verdict. He sounds almost sad about this fact. What am I missing?

By now I'm shifting from one foot to the other, still deciding on which route would be the less risky to get past him and out the door but his next words stun me into freezing. More worried about the storm than him? Gave up the crusade? I didn't even know there was a crusade to kill weres in the first place. I thought it was just fun for them or something. Raven never really explained it to me but then I never asked. I slowly bring my hands up, shaky fingers brushing my hair behind my ears in a nervous manner as I contemplate my options. I could race outside and brave the storm until I find shelter elsewhere or I could risk seeking shelter here with a hunter of all people. I chew on my bottom lip, eyes darting fromt eh door to the floor to him and back to the floor. Finally I exahle a long breath before slowly maneuvering myself back into the chair that I so suddenly bolted from a few minutes prior. I glance up at him almost shyly now, my voice small and vulnerable.

"You're not going to poison me or something, are you?"
