East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I can feel Alexander's eyes watching me as I move about the cafe, taking orders and bringing people their drinks and food. I've finally managed to get the hang of most of it, though I have to ask people to repeat stuff sometimes cause I just can't write it all down fast enough. I may know how to write but it doesn't mean I'm all that good at it. Even so, every time I look up and catch him looking, I give him an encouraging smile to let him know I'm okay. It feels good to know someone's watching over me. I miss that from when Raven and I were close.

As the crowd simmers down, Alexander tells a girl named Sandra to go take a break and I offer her a smile as she waves and heads to the back. She smells of cigarettes so I can only think that's what she's heading to do. When he speaks to me, I turn to look at him, nodding my head as I take a seat in the plush chair indicated closest to the counter. I can't help but watch him move about the cafe, so natural, so graceful, like a tiger trapped in a cage. I find myself intimidated by him sometimes when I see him like this, moving around like no one's watching, just being himself. I bet he doesn't see the power I see when I look at him, the dark hunter underneath those gentle eyes.

I watch as he makes the coffee, my eyes closing as I inhale the sweetness of it from here. As he comes toward me, I pull my knees up on the chair, scooting them beneath me to get comfortable. As he bends down to hand me my drink, I reach out to take it but the moment our hands touch, I feel a twinge of some sort, like putting my hand on a door knob right as someone's opening it from the other side. Suddenly I feel warm inside, like a fire flickering to life. A blush creeps onto my cheeks as I see him before my eyes the way I really see him, as a powerful god with a heart warming presence, a protector of the innocent with a heart of gold. Eyes that I could get lost in and a smile that could stop an earthquake. His chiseled jaw, set in stone and yet I bet it would be soft to the touch. Even his five o'clock shadow is alluring and his wavy blonde hair is just aching for my fingers to run through it.

I jerk back as if hit, the drink he was offering me crashing to the floor as my hands go to my sides and I jump up with a gasp, standing just inches from him now, so close I can smell his tantalizing breath as he breathes out. "I-I'm sorry, I....I have to go."

OOC: No, no, I love it! I went with it so feel free to either stop her from leaving or end the thread, either way, I'm game ^_^
