Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

just as much as I want you

he was both everything you could ever want
and nothing you could ever have

The Englishman was fully aware of exactly the extents his boyfriend so endured for his own benefit. After all, the fae King not only willingly provided the vampire with that very substance he so required for life, but gave it far more frequently than he surely should have. Dorian had so accepted that nocturnal life the vampire was bound to, giving up the light of the sun for those evenings he spent at Sebastian's side. The man so routinely trusted him with his very life. God, his boyfriend did so very much for him and for that, the vampire was so willing to thrust himself into that sunlight just to see the smile spread across the Italian man's lips at the sight of that beach. A small simper crossed his features in the wake of that certainly teasing phrase, regardless of how utterly truthful it was. "You do spoil me." He admitted softly before his lips so rose to that tea, continuing to sip upon that drink that was such the epitome of his youth. That finished cup was placed at the bedside table as that life so filled his very veins, transforming him in ways that even Sebastian himself was fully aware of. He could feel that shift within his body, that warmth that so invaded him, the way his lungs so finally needed air, the way his heart so pounded within his rib cage, the way that hunger that so often gnawed at him somehow vanished. It seemed, however, that even he was not the only one who so idly observed all those changes that life so afforded him.

That inquiry upon his lover's lips was met with the soft reassurance that such prying was surely wholly acceptable. After all, some level of knowledge was surely required if his lover was only going to further excel at that affinity he had been gifted with. He watched that curious tilt to his lover's head, the gesture entirely endearing as the vampire so attempted to explain what he so felt in the wake of that essence Dorian so brought back to his cold physique. That admittance that he so suspected he might have too lost his ability to heal near almost any wound was met with a far more concern than he was sure was warranted. After all, the day consisted of the beach, the vampire entirely assured his only threat upon those sandy shores was the sun above them. Still, a small, reassuring simper crossed his lips at his lover's hint of worry all the same. "I think I can contain my excitement." He offered in a wholly deadpan tone, amused though he was, at least until that suggestion that it might actually be required for the vampire to leave the comfort of those sheets. He could hardly help the groan on his lips and yet, regardless, he so dutifully followed his lover into that large closet.

As much as Sebastian attempted to appear nothing more than enthusiastic of the day ahead of him, his boyfriend seemed wholly aware of his trepidation all the same. He was hardly oblivious of his companion's efforts to so offer him every ounce of subtle consolation at every chance he could. That warm embrace of the man's hand within his own was met with a small, though fleeting simper upon his features as Dorian so led the way down stairs and towards that door that was his last barrier against the brightness of those rays of light. He could hardly help the fashion that his own heart seemed to thud with an ever increasing pace and yet, Sebastian remained wholly determined to see their day through, primarily for the sake of the King whom had sacrificed so very much for him on a near daily basis. That venture into day, however, was briefly interrupted by the presence of that sweet young doctor in training as she so thrust a bottle of sunscreen at the pair of men, quite insistent upon it, even if Sebastian had not truly contemplated how his alive flesh might so react to those rays - his primary focus was simply ensuring his skin wasn't incinerated in a burst of fire, a concern he was certain all the sunscreen in the world would not solve.

Despite this, the vampire willingly gave into those worries for the health of his skin, accepting that bottle with the solemn promise that he would indeed apply it on their journey to the beach. It seemed enough to please both individuals and, far before Sebastian was ready, Dorian proceeded over that threshold and into that light that still seemed near blinding even beneath those blue tinted sunglasses. It was with some notable caution that Sebastian followed suite, willing, perhaps begrudgingly, to trust his companion as Dorian so did night after night. He could hardly help the fashion in which he so glanced upwards, that brightness causing his eyes to squint ever so slightly before his gaze shifted towards the near beaming face of his lover as Dorian tugged him down those steps and towards that awaiting vehicle. The vampire could hardly help the relief he found from the car that so surrounded them, those ingrained fears of the sun were so deep that he still found himself entirely tense under her glare. Those softly uttered words of his companion saw his gaze shift towards the man, a small shrug upon his shoulders. "I believe it is you that has done well, ma biche..." He commented softly. After all, Sebastian himself had merely stepped outside, it was Dorian who was so meticulously keeping that life vibrant within him.

It was within that comfort he found within the vehicle that the vampire so set about upholding his end of that promise, slathering on that poignant cream till it was rubbed into his skin. He'd forgotten the scent of sunscreen, much less how much he disliked it, even if he hardly voiced a syllable of it. Rather, his bright crystalline eyes were largely turned towards the window, simply watching that bright world that existed around him - so filled with a near spectrum of colors that he had almost forgotten of. It was awe inspiring to see that world he'd simply ceased to exist within. His attention shifted from that view, however, as Dorian so pointed out quite abruptly that 'contraption' that so near attempted to hunt him down, those words and that scowl upon his features so producing a soft chuckle upon the vampire's own. "They are quite interesting contraptions. When I was younger one of the wheels was nearly three times its size now." He recalled that fad the English had gone through all too well, those vehicles of sorts the first to truly inspire his countrymen. He watched as that bicycle left their view, the vehicle cruising along for several moments longer before, regrettably, Charles began to slow that car in front of those sandy shores that he felt such hesitance to enjoy.

He hardly bothered, however, to so stop his lover from near jumping from that vehicle and into that bright light, the fae's elation was altogether clear to Sebastian, even if his own was far more muted. Hesitantly, the vampire leaned forward in his seat to so regard the outside world with marked weariness, enough so that the fae turned suddenly towards him just long enough to offer him a glimpse of that affinity so at work. That glow that had once thwarted his figure now so eagerly embraced him, a testament to that life that ran through his veins. Softly, he sighed, pulling himself from that vehicle to join his lover on that sand. That inquiry so caused his eyebrows to furrow in thought as he watched his lover remove those shoes from his feet. "I think...I took my sister Katherine to the beach last..." He commented with some uncertainty. It had been so long ago - since he'd even been able to step into the sunlight, hell, since he'd had a family to do so with. Still, any emotions that might have come with such a recollection was near forgotten in the wake of that surprised dance that so seemed to beset his lover at the awe of the sand beneath his toes. A small simper crossed his features and, slowly, Sebastian leaned down to pull off his own shoes, letting them dangle nonchalantly from his fingertips as he buried his feet within the sand.

"My sister used to collect sand dollars when she was younger. She'd spend hours searching for the best ones if you let her. Have you ever seen a sand dollar, Dorian?" He inquired, his gaze shifted towards his companion as he stepped further from the vehicle. Sebastian had, in a way, so resigned himself to the simple fact that he was already here. Going back to the comfort of his home free from the sun was no longer an option he so considered. His life was quite literally within his lover's hands. After all, the man had seemed wholly shocked of the existence of a beach the first time they had ventured upon these shores, it was only fair that he showed his lover all that it so had to offer.
