East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

The hesitance that marked the young woman was quite nearly palpable to the Macedonian man. He suspected the young female had hardly held an actual job within the entirety of her life. Such was hardly a surprising notion though, especially with what little he knew of her family life. From what Alexander had gathered, her family had chosen to live in the wild shifted rather then partake in society as a whole, not that he could blame her one way or another. Instead, the dark hunter merely did his best to ensure everything was understood, taking care of the register so she could focus on the singular task that he had provided her with. In truth, Alexander was concerned she would get overwhelmed with the world he trusted her within, her doe eyed looks providing him enough reason to be worried. They had started slow, one of their regulars first in line and for a moment even Alexander had to provide the elder man with a grateful look of appreciation. If there was anyone he would have chosen for the woman to start with - it would have been someone like him. Slowly though, over time, she started to get the hang of it and the small party began to fall into the familiar groove that was far more normal of the cafe.

By the time that the morning rush was over, hours had passed with the pair standing side by side. The busy little cafe had receded into a sort of solitude that he was far more used to. It would be a few hours until the line picked back up again and quite frankly Alexander was willing to take advantage of every moment of tranquility that he was offered. He waved off Sandra towards the back of the building, "Take a break girl." He muttered in some diminutive fashion of warmheartedness. It was only once the young barista had left that Alexander had turned his attention fully back onto the sweet were-creature he'd spent most of the morning with. "Why don't you take a seat, Alexis? I'll get us something to drink." He spoke, gesturing towards one of the large, over sized plush chairs. They were by far one of his favored pieces of furniture. He hardly waited for the young woman to settle before he was behind the polished espresso machines, turning the knobs and handles with a well practiced ease. In a few moments, the man had created two steaming mugs of warm, chocolatey coffee ripe and ready for their consumption.

At least, such had been his intention, at any rate. The mugs were carefully wrapped in Alexander's hands as he made his way around the front of the bar and towards Alexis. He placed his own mug down on the side table between the two chairs, bending down to hand the young woman her own white chocolate mocha. The action was innocent enough, his fingertips gingerly brushing against the girl's own as he handed her the warm mug. It was then - with that simple contact of flesh that Alexander found himself thrust into a world that he was entirely unprepared for. In those simple moments, he found his mind filled with thoughts that weren't his own - thoughts that were entirely foreign to him, thoughts that were laced with that demure female voice. Thoughts that were hers.

(ooc: soo...I kinda took some power playing liberties here and thought maybe it'd be interesting if Alex discovered his mind reading powers but if you want to go a different route with this thread I totally understand too!)
