The moment my teeth hit flesh, I flinch, waiting for a backhand or some form of retaliation from the wild haired boy. Instead he only hugs me tighter, merely rubbing the spot as if that will make it go away and continues on his way. My efforts grow only bolder then, trying to grip flesh and pull, cause more damage that cannot be rubbed away. If I get him angry enough, he might drop me so I can flee. I glare at him as he chews on the sausage, my own mindset being that since I stole it, that makes it mine and I only shared with the pack because I had to. Now that I'm on my own, I'm going to need every last scrap of meat to keep surviving and the boy is taking away from that.

I look down, noting that he has no shoes on and plans start in my mind. Once down, I can always go for the feet before he can grab me. I've always been rather quick at a bite and run. If I take out his feet, what's to keep him chasing after me? I continue my struggle for freedom, finally able to scrabble with my back feet and scratch against his side before I get out of his vise grip and hit the ground. I instantly get up and press against a wall, unsure of just what I want to do for now. Will he attack or will he only try to grasp me again? I'm not used to someone merely wanting to carry me. None the less, I'm willing to fight if only to make myself an escape.

His eyes narrow and I see the change in his posture when he sees my frightened stance. He is indeed a predator in his shifted form, that's easy enough to tell. I can practically see the urge to end my life glowing in his eyes but as suddenly as its there, it's gone. My head tilts to the side some, eyes giving way to curiosity as I wait to see what his next move will be. As I shift, he hesitates and I take that in stride. He watches me for a moment before scowling and I wait to see what he will try to do next. Believe it or not, I am not trying to use my naked form to distract him. In our pack, a naked form was looked upon as just another person, not something of lust or desire. Two mates saw each other the same way whether they were in human form or animal and non-mates were just as oblivious. In fact, I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I ever were to come across a male that looks at me with desire because it's not something I know.

Tobi's reaction is somewhat more predictable for me. He is unhappy that I'm no longer covered in fur that he can grab and grasp. Now I am bare skin and slippery. Now escape is easier, though I know I am faster on four legs, plus I can get into smaller places, but first I must escape. When he stamps his foot, I jump some, still waiting for him to make a move of anger to hurt me. His words make me blink some before my own eyes narrow. Sure, I'm still scared but while he keeps his distance, I've got a little nerve.

"And you're not supposed to grab strange animals off the street and steal their food."

I manage to cross my arms, looking more brave than I feel. He looks away and I inch a little further along the wall, wondering if I can slip around him. When he suddenly gives a name though, I hesitate, turning to look at him again in puzzlement. Tobi? Is that his name? I wasn't actually expecting him to answer. It was a rhetorical question. He even grins at me, something more akin to someone I'd be inclined to talk to but I remind myself that this was the same boy who grabbed me out of nowhere and tried to possess me, that took my food so now I'll have to steal more. The grin is gone as quickly as it came and he looks at me again with that slow indifference. He tells me that he doesn't know the meaning of kidnap. I scowl.

"It's when you take someone for no reason at all and believe them to be your property when they're not. I ran away from my pack. I belong to no one now and that's the way I want it."

I try to straighten up some so I can look more determined. I watch with some curiosity as he moves some black strands of hair to the side before telling me to shift back because I looked better that way.

"And why should I? So you can carry me around like your purse again?"

I'm feeling a little bolder now that he told me he wouldn't hurt me, at least for today. He could always be lying but I'll keep a careful eye on him. He grins at the command as if it's his greatest joy to see me as a fox again and takes a step toward me. Instantly my body stiffens and my eyes widen. What does he want with me? His next questions take me off guard. He wants to play? I narrow my eyes in distrust. Then he tells me I should be his pet and I scowl again. I don't care if he thinks I'm pretty. I have never been called such but I was taught that only a mate is supposed to talk to me that way. It only makes me distrust him more.

"Weres don't keep other Weres as pets, Tobi. It's not right. How would you like it if someone made you their property and told you what to do?"

Quickly thinking up a plan, I exhale slowly and go for it.

"How about we make a deal? I'll shift back and play with you and maybe even steal some more food for you if you're hungry and in exchange, you don't bring up anyone being your pet anymore."
