East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She seemed curious of the journals he kept, her head tilting as if she was trying to imagine all the moments he must have had to write down in it. He was betting she had lots of interesting moments she could be saving for a later date as well, even if they didn't feel so luxurious at the time. Some day she may look back on this very moment and wish she had captured it somewhere in writing to look back on and remember. Some things are better left remembered, no matter how unimportant they may seem at the time. She mentioned trying it and he nodded, stroking his chin thoughtfully.

"YOU SHOULD. I BET YOU'LL SOUND LIKE A LEGEND EVE TO YOURSELF IN NO TIME."

He grinned playfully. She thanked him for sharing and he shrugged.

"NO PROBLEM."

She seemed to take it in stride that he shared such a personal detail of his own life. It's true that he's usually a very secretive person and doesn't share things like that but he knew that Yumi could keep a secret and he felt that he could trust her. That's also why he chose to tell her why he had left in the first place. She looked confused and he didn't blame her. He'd never heard of the New Eden before that one witch blabbed to him in the bar one day, loose lipped after a few too many margaritas. He thought she wasn't making any sense at first or that she had completely lost it. That's why he didn't expect to find anything when he chose to follow her home from the bar and find the location of her coven. That's where the real fun started and from there, he just kept moving, researching. She repeated the name and he nodded to let her know she was saying it right. When she said that vampires can't have children, his brows rose and he nodded.

"I KNOW. THAT'S WHY IT SOUNDED LUDICROUS TO ME TOO WHEN I HEARD IT. BUT THEY HAVE SO MUCH RESEARCH, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO STUFF CHISELED INTO ROCKS HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WOULD HAPPEN OR IF IT'S EVEN SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN BUT THEY BELIEVE IT FULL HEARTEDLY AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM DANGEROUS. THEY'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO MATCHES THE DESCRIPTION OF THE VAMPIRE THEY BELIEVE WILL GIVE THEM A CHILD AND THE ONLY ONE I KNOW OF HAPPENS TO BE OUR SUPREME AND MY FIANCE. YOU CAN SEE NOW WHY THIS DISTRESSED ME ENOUGH TO MAKE ME LEAVE WITHOUT WARNING."

His brows furrowed, hoping she would understand and not think he'd just gone crazy. When she mentioned looking for them in books and online, he shook his head.

"BELIEVE ME, I DID THAT. ALL OF THAT. YOU'LL FIND SMALL TRUTHS WOVEN IN BUT MOSTLY IT'S ALL HEARSAY. I HAD TO FIND THEIR HOME BASE TO LEARN ANYTHING CONCRETE AND IT STILLS SOUNDS CRAZY, EVEN TO ME."

Yumi didn't seem all that concerned and maybe he was going a little overboard with all this but he was always rather melodramatic himself when it came to someone he cared about. Isolt's safety was no laughing matter to him and he knew that the coven was looking in Sacrosanct. They were also already having witches and warlocks hang around Red on the Water, almost as if they'd already seen her. They haven't made a move yet but who's to say when they would? What were they waiting for? A sign of pregnancy? He didn't like someone watching his fiance for anything and he wasn't going to stop until they were out of the picture for good. Yumi seemed distracted when he showed her the ring. He hoped that meant a good thing, that she thought the ring truly worthy of Isolt's finger. He only wanted Yumi's safety in mind when he warned her about the hunter she had chosen to befriend. He wasn't going to try to tell her who to be friends with but he did want her to be careful, for her own sake. She assured him that she would and he offered a soft smile.

He was well aware of how most of his kind thought of hunters and while he shared their dislike for the hunter kind, he wasn't going to say that being a hunter automatically makes you bad. Surely there must be good ones out there somewhere. Look at Davante. He used to think all warlocks were slobs and stuck up before he met him. He noticed a flicker of something new when she mentioned living with Isolt and he wondered what that was about but he didn't push, instead smirking when she said that she was sure Isolt would like him stopping by.

"DON'T LET ME INTRUDE ON GIRL TIME OR ANYTHING. OF OCURSE, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A PILLOW FIGHT, I'M GAME TO WATCH."

He raised a brow at her, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
