Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

If there was one thing in this entire world that Samantha could be sure she was truly protective of, it was the faerie man that she had taken in and grown to love. There was Aiden, of course, but Aiden had proved himself to be entirely capable of taking care of himself. Dorian, however, Samantha couldn't be sure of. She still watched him as he struggled with every day tasks, often confused by the way of the world now. Where would he be without her to help him understand? Sure, he had his lover now, but they weren't seeing each other that terribly often yet. And besides, Sam had yet to meet this lover, hardly felt as though he could be trusted until she did so. The idea that she should turn over Dorian's teachings to one of the other fae at the burlesque was enough to see her skin crawl. Despite Nadya's assurance that they were fine, Samantha found herself unable to let go of the unease she so often felt around the other fae that worked there. How many of them knew the faeries that were looking for her? How many of them would be the first to turn her over given the opportunity?

"You don't know them like I do," Sam said quietly, though she didn't meet Nadya's gaze even when the woman came to lift up the cover on her head. She didn't feel the need to elaborate, nor did she speak much further than that on the subject. She wouldn't put the person she was meant to protect in that kind of danger, even if the man was assured that he could take care of himself. She merely nodded as she was told the dye was done, letting out a soft breath as she gave up the toddler boy in her arms. She allowed Nadya to navigate her to the sink, leaning the way she was supposed to so that Nadya could easily rinse out the dye. She was content to remain silent - her own mind still focused on the conversation they'd just left behind - until Nadya brought up the Gala.

Truthfully, she'd forgotten all about the flourish of bodies she'd been within the moment that they'd stepped out of Red on the Water. She'd been relieved that it was over. After all, it had only taken moments within the crowd that the surge of emotions had made her temples ache. But the question of whether or not she had spoken to Aiden about it all made her curious. "No..." She said slowly, her eyes fluttering shut lest the dye find their way into them. "I didn't think he'd care about it all. He's not one for parties, you know." She quirked her lip up at the image of Aiden there made her chuckle. She couldn't picture him in a suit shaking hands with the major. "Naddy, I don't think he was busy, I think he just didn't want to go. I can't blame him, it wasn't much fun."

It was only when she was guided to sit up did she really look at the flustered woman. She looked so confused, so conflicted. "So that's the guy then, hm?" She said with a smile as she stood, going across the room to pluck her hair brush off the table to work through the already forming knots. She was a queen now, didn't that mean she should have nice hair that behaved and didn't look as though it was constantly fighting each other? "Frost is nice," She replied with a warm smile as she lifted her gaze up to the other woman. "And I don't think it was that much of a scene," She spoke, oblivious entirely that the pair had kissed in the room, she'd been more focused on the shadows she'd seen in the corner that had made her heart seize up. "Dorian likes to think everyone is a peasant. We're working on it. Not that many people looked at him, anyway. And the ones that did were amused." She tapped her chest. "I felt it."
