Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

He had known, he supposed, that the escalator would prove too much for the previously primitive girl. Frost paused for a few moments before it, allowing the woman to see it and watch those other shoppers step onto it without harm. His patience for nonsense however, was decidedly short lived, Frost far more inclined to merely expose his new pack mate to those experiences as quickly and efficiently as possible, allowing her to see what it did, to watch other people use it harmlessly before stepping onto it himself. Those violet eyes danced back towards her at her sudden exclamation and effort to reach him. The man momentarily surprised she would go to the effort of trying to save him and yet he supposed that pack bond worked swiftly in assuring loyalty if nothing else. Still, Frost remained nothing but calm, merely allowing those moving stairs to carry him down another floor to the food court below before neatly stepping off at the other end to turn and look expectantly back towards his companion beneath that fringe of wild white hair. For several moments the woman merely paced like a caged animal, the thoughts that raced inside her mind easily feeding into his own, that panic and worry distinctly uncomfortable, Frost readily moving to attempt to shut those thoughts out and merely wait at the bottom.

Finally, Malia seemed to gather the courage to place one foot upon the first moving stair, a notable achievement, save for her failing to lift the other one, the girl falling dramatically onto the rail. Her other leg dragged behind her as she rode to the bottom, clinging for dear life to that rail, Frost content to mutter beneath his breath as his eyes rolled slightly at her performance and the sheer amount of attention she was attracting. The approach of the floor however seemed to present a whole knew set of challenges, Frost wholly anticipating her to do as he did the very first time he had ever used an escalator, misjudged the ground and step to heavily. Malia, however seemed to be best of an entirely different idea. Frost identifying her intentions perhaps a moment too late as the girl suddenly flung herself forward, leaping from those stairs to grasp onto a pole as she stumbled and tripped about. Half the mall now staring at her as she all but demanded to know what it was. Frost sighing as he stepped towards her, arms folding across his chest. This was going to be a very long transition.

"That, Malia, was an escalator. It saves people the effort of having to walk. They are relatively safe, simply do not put your fingers near the place where the stairs go as they move. In future try not to leap from them either, it will take you to the bottom- then you just step off. If it helps though, I used to fear them too."

That last sentence was uttered truly quietly. Frost rarely willing to speak of that past in any sense, much less the inabilities he had once held. The man stepping forward to lead the way again, the equine entirely content to allow Malia to walk as close as she pleased, letting her take comfort from his presence if that was what she desired. He could be nice. Sometimes. He could be decent. When he tried. That walk to the food court managed to go without incident, Frost pointing to that chair before commanding her to stay, that smallest touch of that Alpha authority seeping into his voice then, assuring she followed that command before he wandered back into that crowd. He was, fortunately, oblivious to that altercation she had with another shopper, the stallion simply moving to acquire her something he imagined a coyote might eat before returning, sliding that fried chicken to her across the table before seating himself opposite her. Some small simmer of satisfaction turned within him at her apparent like of that food, before the woman all but tore into it like a wild animal.
Another sigh was drawn from his lips. Malia making short work of it until there was nothing but bones left, Frost willing to admit the scent of the food was...pleasant to an extent and yet he had long since given up any attempt to truly enjoy that meat. The girl only now eyeing that fork he had attempted to have her utilise, his eyes rolling lightly once more.

"No. It is for eating the food. You don't eat like an animal when you are in your human form. You must learn to distinguish the two. I don't eat peoples lawns in my human form, you don't need to tear apart a carcass with your teeth. Do as you like as a coyote though."

His shoulders shrugged slightly at that last utterance before picking up his own fork, stabbing that lettuce leaf and lifting it to his lips as if to display just how the fork was supposed to be used, the man moving to explain his choice of salad well before the inevitable questions about it could be asked. Amusement touching his own lips then.

"I have tasted meat before, I don't dislike the taste exactly. My animal form is a herbivore, that means an animal that eats only plants, even in my human form I find meat difficult to eat, it often makes me sick- so I simply do not eat it."

It was the most basic explanation he could afford her, Frost content to leave her chewing those bones as he finished his own lunch. At least she had liked the chicken, that alone providing him knowledge of at least one meal he knew she would eat. This entire expedition having proven longer then he truly anticipated it would. Frost distinctly unsure as to how much further he should push the woman and those new experiences. His gaze glancing upward to her own.

"I think we can worry about shoes another time, this might be enough for today. Is there anything else you want? Otherwise I think it is time to go home."
