Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Why did he sell that table? Oh right.

"I needed some extra cash for a project that just never panned out. So now I just don't have a dining table." He shrugged before studying her for a moment, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"I couldn't fit a table big enough to seat everyone in my family. And honestly, I would never want to host a family dinner. Shit gets broken every time, guaranteed." God, the thought of hosting any kind of family dinner was just exhausting. He picked up his glass of scotch, sipping quietly on it, holding it in his mouth to savor the flavor before swallowing and setting it aside - out of her reach. No, Claire, he hadn't forgotten your over-interest in his beverage.

"The dishes alone would be unmanageable, what with Mom thinking she's some culinary expert now. Dad would bring a damn liquor store in here and we'd drink it dry, I'm sure. Then my brothers... fuck those guys, man. I wouldn't have a house left by the end of it."

Family dinners had been an ordeal when Blake was growing up, especially since there were so many rowdy boys to handle. Then there was his parents and their constant work schedule, which never seemed to line up for a calm evening. He could recall his father working until the twilight hours at his office, only to get home and see his wife run out the door because she had cases to prep. It wasn't until he was five years old when things had started to calm, his mother quitting her job to become full-time mom. Then there was the accident and six brothers became five... Well, there was a lot of family to handle.

"I take it you have a lot of family dinners?" His statement came out as a question, Blake watching her face carefully as he chewed around a cut of meat. Maybe he could figure out where she was from, why she was so underdressed for the weather outside. She had seemed so shocked that he figured she obviously had a family that at some point cared about her so... where were they? Why was she alone? She was too damn sheltered to not have them around. "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"
