Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It is the Icelandic phrases that fall from her lips that truly surprise the man as he lingers in her presence, eyes lifted in a moment of rarely seen, genuine astonishment. Her accent was slightly off, her pronunciation the same and yet Icelandic is one of the worlds most difficult languages, that she had, in fact, managed even that sentence was remarkably impressive in itself. His features however, show little outward expression of such a thing, merely eyeing the girl a moment in response to her words, already reaching for the turning thoughts of her mind. She had been distant of late, confining herself to her room more often then not and yet Frost had been content enough to allow her. If that was what she desired then so be it, the extent of her displeasure with him however had perhaps been vastly unknown, at least until now- the faintest hint of a simper touching his lips at this momentary realisation provided by her inner thoughts of just what it seemed was bothering the young blonde girl whom continued to impress him with her cleverness even now.

"Engill."

He utters the word smoothly, the name he has taken to calling her with some level of affection, shifting ever so slightly until he stands before her more readily and lessens her need to crane her neck towards him. It is perhaps this part of Alphaship he has never held any true talent for, explaining his actions, even to himself on occasion, was never a wholly successful endeavour and yet for Calliel, just as Edie or Claire he held some level of...care. Perhaps they held little right to question him and yet what use to him would be a silent pack that never disagreed with him? There was nothing to be gained from blind obedience, that much he is perhaps more painfully aware of. The troubled thoughts of a teenage girl however are perhaps somewhat outside his own realm of ability. For a moment, at least, his own troubles are forgotten.

"I did not sleep with Edie, you forget I see your thoughts, she is not here because of any seduction nor is she here to stand above you. I perceive no one in this pack as more important then any other, there is a place for you as there is for Claire and for Edie and a mere word of description of that place is all that has been afforded to Edie, nothing more and nothing less. It does not change anything between you or I or anyone else- by the logic of your mind, Engill, Claire should be beta for she was here even before you and do you believe, truly, that such a thing would be a sensible choice?"

That the world is not so clear cut as she would desire to believe it is evident enough, the words he offers delivered as always in that smooth, deep baritone and yet there is little hardness to them, pausing as he merely poses her another question. If she believed Edie had been afforded such a thing wrongly then he desires to hear why it is wrong, if her logic is merely based upon her service to the pack at large then Claire, above all, should be made Beta and there are few, surely, who would believe such a choice beneficial.

"You are still learning, you are still new to this life I brought to you. Yet even my rank as Alpha does not make me immune to fault. That you feel so strongly about this is my mistake and you have my apologies for overlooking you as you feel you have been. I am sorry Calliel. I was unaware you felt as such and yet as I said to you before your value to myself, to our pack, is not defined by rank. In the end the only thing I ask from each of you is respect for one another and nothing more. You are still learning your powers, you are still learning to shift, you are adjusting to a way of life so vast and so different to what you have known it was my belief that you would not desire further responsibility just yet and it is for that reason I have sought Edie's assistance. There are some tasks for which she is better suited, as there are tasks for which you are better suited. I see you as learning, not incapable, I see you as needing time before you take on more responsibility and I was attempting to afford you that."

How unusual it was, that his attempt to care for the girl had been so....misunderstood by her and perhaps by himself in turn. Women, he thinks, are decidedly confusing creatures and yet it was clear enough that Nadya's potential presence need be mentioned, though for this moment at least he finds his thought inclined to move elsewhere.

"If you feel you are ready for more responsibility you need only say so and I will move you upward. Though perhaps a start is to offer your pack mates respect in turn. Do you think it appropriate to consider talking to Claire is like talking to a wall, or to think of Edie as a harlot? Do you think I would allow anyone to speak or think of you as anything less then what you are? It is not my place to tell Edie what she may or may not do with other people unless it threatens us, just as I do not demand Claire cease to bake at two am or that you must come out of your room when you are sulking. The higher we rise in pack- the more of ourselves we give it. If you think you are ready, tell me."

It is perhaps the most he has ever spoken, his words holding little outward emotion all the same and yet they were true enough. If she sought to be higher then so be it, if she held a talent she believed held as much responsibility as Beta then he would afford it to her, what harm was there to let her try if she was determined? Her rather spirited nature, after all, had been what had so intrigued him upon their first meeting. The manner in which she moved to pat the grass beside herself however sees the snowy haired stallion pause, as if contemplating the offer all the same, oblivious perhaps, to his own appearance today and the thoughts he had dismissed in the wake of Calliels own fears that he hoped, on some level had been ceased. A sigh of sorts forces itself form his lips, the man moving at last to lower himself to the grass beside her chair, laying back a moment later to fold his arms behind his head, the sun....more pleasant the he had anticipated, his violet gaze entirely visible as his hair simply moved to fall back. Though for now he made no move to replace it. Calliel was pack, there was little need to bother to cover his weaker eye, though few ever noticed it's ever so slightly more pale tone.

"Yes. It was."

That. It seems, is all he will offer, at least willingly, the man having spoken so freely to her of her own concerns and yet of his, it would seem, he remains incapable. His features frown ever so slightly, a discomfort of sorts settling upon him and yet in the realm of.....emotion, on any level- the man holds precious little ability. The extent of which none have ever truly appreciated.

"I find the past bothers me."

Well. It was a start.
