Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Much of these 'debutante' balls, at least by the description afforded to him by the woman seemed entirely akin to the coming of age celebrations he had once known. At least- the wealthy still continued to host them as a symbol of status, even if it seemed the idea was not to result in marriage although why one would truly bother if a successful union and a married daughter was not the goal he hardly knew. If one wished to display status and wealth for the sake of it then a regular party would surely be enough. Her mention of her own suitor, this apparent Cat-Man that Dorian was yet to meet and a topic upon which they had disagreed many times merely seeks the handsome Fae frown if only ever so slightly. A suitor was perhaps a good word for the man and yet the degree of intimacy he is assured the pair share is still decidedly unacceptable to his mind. She reaches forward, patting his head in a manner decidedly boyish. Dorian incapable of preventing the slight roll of his eyes that her gesture and tease afford him. He does however, answer her question with distinct seriousness.

"I have had a number of proposals in my time. The first when I was but nine years old and yet my parents did not feel it a suitable enough match. Indeed they rejected, on my behalf, quite a number of offers until I was about fifteen in which case my Father suggested I choose between four young women he deemed suitable and who were of a high enough status to which an alliance of our families would be acceptable. These women, I might add, I had never once met and as such I refused. I continued to refuse for several years, even despite meeting most of them over the years. My Father grew quite frustrated with me. In fact- had he not been killed when he had I am entirely assured he would have arranged my marriage regardless."

There is little bitterness to the Fae's words, indeed he simply states them as fact- for that is all they were and indeed such was the way of things. His sisters had been afforded no choice at all in their unions. His simple status as a male, even an illegitimate one, having afforded him at least that choice. Even if he had never made it. Her gestures towards the bite marks upon his neck simply see the man adjust his shirt in such a fashion as to hide them, a soft snort of amusement expelled all the same.

"My vampire lover- was a man."

He pauses, ever so briefly, slate-hued gaze lingering upon the girl though what entirely he searches for upon her features he hardly knows. Such...liaisons between two men, at least in his time, were more than simply frowned upon and truly he hardly knows as to what the modern culture upon such things dictates. He had mentioned, earlier, that his companion from last night had been a 'he' and yet it was entirely possible that Samantha had perhaps not truly comprehended his words within panic and subsequent relief at his return. Even so he merely affords the woman the softest of shrugs.

"I am doubtful that there are any women here of appropriate status although I assure you Samantha, I am entirely capable of courting a woman when I desire it."

He offers her a final grin, one eye lifting ever so slightly in what may well have been a tease before this mention of his family seems to remove any further humour from the conversation. His past a topic the man was decidedly close-lipped about, even with his Fae companion. Her attempts at encouragement however, are met with the faintest of smiles. Dorian nodding politely. Women, it seemed, often preferred gentleness and while perhaps it afforded him a great many pleasures in some ways- in others it seemed to bring him little but scorn from his father and brothers. Perhaps though, it mattered little now, Dorian merely focusing upon the task at hand. He rewards the woman sufficiently when it is she achieves the task, her lips brushing his cheek, the grin upon her features lasting only so long as it takes him to declare they should dance.

Her sudden assurance that she could not dance is met with a ready scowl from the fae man, unaware that Samantha had perhaps already anticipated one of his 'tantrums' (he's very good at them) and yet for now at least the Fae continues to remain merely...perplexed. A woman that could not dance was utterly unheard of.

"If we can learn to work the singing box....how you say....radio, then you can learn to dance."

Her hand reaches towards her lips, the look he affords her seeming to see her think better of it before she continues to protest. She lacked so very many of the skills for the very role she had appointed herself too! How ever did she intend to lead if she could not walk or dance!

"You cannot merely sit idle. An idle Queen is ill-favoured. I will teach you dancing as it should be done. After all, there is a great much that can be said through dancing. You can tell much of a woman by the way she dances and too- much of a man. It is perhaps the oldest act of flirtation."

He smiles easily once more, hardly affording the woman the chance to refuses before he steps forward and towards her, one hand gently taking her own, pulling her to the centre of the room before resting his free hand upon her hip.

"The man always leads, you need only follow. If he is skilled he may hide all the flaws of his partner and yet you, in turn, can say so very much in these moments. Dancing is but a gentle touch and yet it teases at more, it is flirtatious, seductive and alluring. You should dance with a mystery that makes your partner crave only more of you."

He waits then, until the very right moment within the music before stepping back to take Samantha with him, each of his own strides a single, fluid motion that flowed effortlessly into the next- guiding Samantha gently about the room.

"See, you are not so very bad, do not look at your feet though. Pretend I am your suitor, keep your eyes upon me..."
