Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

So few truly understood what it was like to be immortal - to see life pass before their eyes with each night became nearly as monotonous as the one that had come before it. It was that which had so caused the enigmatic vampire to travel so greatly within the past century, never staying for more than a few months in any given location if only because that difference in scenery somehow brought some value to his otherwise ritualistic life. Still, there was a marked difference between the pair on this topic alone. Dorian, from what he had gathered, had remained in one location staring at the same walls and surrounded by the same people for far longer than he was assured he'd even been alive upon this planet. He could understand well that his companion might have understood the simple notion of days and nights blending so seamlessly together into one period far better than even he might have. Sebastian simply left when things no longer attracted him, when the people no longer interested him. There was no doubt he too left a string of broken hearts but they had failed to be enough for the man. It was decidedly difficult to truly find any such individual that could so content him when the man's continued existence near depended upon variety. After all, he'd seen first hand what happened when he tried to commit himself wholly to another. It was a mistake he would never make again.

In a way, he almost pitied his companion, his crystalline gaze steadfast upon his lover as the King attempted to reassure him and yet his only thought was the simple devastation that Dorian had been alone at court in a sea of faces for the better part of his life. How lonely such a life must have been. Gingerly, Sebastian reached out, his fingertips brushing almost affectionately against Dorian's cheek as he responded softly, "We must simply make sure then to make every day we have remarkable, then." There was so much still of this world for Dorian to see and though he innately knew his days with the man were entirely numbered, he had every intention of opening the fae's eyes to the wonderment that he had certainly missed the last few centuries - things in which Sebastian himself had taken advantage of. Such thoughts would surely later occupy his mind entirely once Dorian was no longer at his side and yet, for now, it was the sudden appearance of the fireworks lighting up the night sky that so tore Sebastian's attention away from the man next to him, albeit momentarily.

The decided possessiveness was an emotion that he so struggled with when it came to the man at his side. Usually, he made an effort to maintain some level of distance within the public's eye though it was but for Dorian's benefit. Tonight, however, such desires entirely overwhelmed the vampire's usual restraint. His hand so easily reached over to pull the fairy closer towards him, the vampire all too aware of the sudden strained demeanor on his companion's part. He knew too this closeness alone was hardly enough to put his lover at ease and so, the vampire instead did his best to reassure his companion in one fashion or another. A warm simper crossed the Englishman's features in his efforts before he nodded ever so slightly. "I promise. They only look close, they are quite a ways off." It was, sadly, the best he could do - to offer his reassurance without getting into the logistics of how he knew they would be entirely safe. It was thankful really, if only because Sebastian himself had rather limited knowledge of fireworks and their mechanics. Still, it was that residual effort that so brought unbidden to his lips a promise that he never would have intended to offer, if it were not for that overwhelming urge to keep Dorian as his own.

In that simple moment, the fireworks that had begun to continue overhead in a more rapid progression were entirely ignored. Instead, the vampire's crystalline gaze remained entirely steady upon the man in front of him, his own form entirely breathless as he waited for whatever reception such admittance would receive. Though it was Dorian's affinity that coaxed those words to his lips, it was an entirely truthful sentiment. He would see that no harm came to the fairy at his side, not while the man was within his presence. It was all for Dorian alone. This attachment he held for the fairy was indeed a dangerous thing. He hardly moved as the King leaned closer towards him, pressing his lips upon his cheek in a gesture that brought a soft breath to the vampire's lips. He offered his companion the smallest of simpers, his head bobbing ever so slightly in the process. "Good." He uttered simply, choosing not to expand on the words he surely never should have said within the first place.

Instead, the vampire returned his attention to the skies, leaning back upon the grass only moments after Dorian himself. "I was in Tuscany." He responded simply, choosing entirely to leave out the simple fact that he had been entirely busied with the bodice of a worker from a vineyard nearby the village he was staying at for the week, too much so to enjoy the stars overhead. His present company, he decided, was vastly more appreciated, the girl herself was entirely forgettable within his mind. Still, it was this which saw the vampire turn his gaze slowly towards the man, a small frown crossing his lips. "There are so many things that you've been denied, mon cher." He stated simply, his eyes tracing upwards as one arm reached up to settle behind his head in a pillow of sorts. He was silent for a moment, before abruptly inquiring, "Have you ever been to an aquarium?" It was decidedly difficult, when there was a whole world to see, to decide what to introduce Dorian to first. He doubted very much the King would take any interest in the bars he frequented, or the clubs he visited. However, a restaurant with a trip to the aquarium was something very doable, something he thought the fae, in all his infinite curiosity, might enjoy. It would be expensive, no doubt, to coax the establishment to keep it's doors open for their benefit alone but that look that might cross Dorian's face alone would be entirely worth the money he would spend.
