East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Just another Night to Kill

I know that most of the people in here are not people at all. If the pointed ears weren't enough of a give away, the very scents from their skin is a gimme for any supernatural. Or maybe I've just been alive so long that I can pick up on another fairy like a certain cologne in the air or something. Of course, it would make sense for a business based on beautiful people with grace to use their immortal advantages for money. If I wasn't so good at killing things, maybe it's something I would have thought up. Of course, I would be more of the manager type. I like to watch but I'm not much for dancing.

I'm sure with there being so much supernatural activity around here that there's gotta be some kind of heirarchy. Every group has to have a power hungry individual or two and some loyal followers, right? I've never stuck to a group for too long. I'm too much of a wanderer. When a contract hits my desk, I take off, just me and the Impala. With the Dark Council on my side, there's not much that will stand in my way.

I have a good sense of hearing too since I pay attention to my surroundings more than most. I also like to know when someone is gushing about me. A small smirk draws at my lips when I hear the girl and something, call it a hunch, tells me she's talking about me. But to who? One of her girlfriends or something else? I take another sip of my drink and turn back to watch the dance but when I hear someone walking toward me, I look up at the pretty blonde, one brow arching up in curiosity. I glance down at the drink, my smirk widening. "Well aren't you a welcoming bunch." I say as I glance around. I'm used to an ambush coming after such friendly words so I'm already on guard. Too bad I didn't think to bring a weapon in with me besides the piece in the back of my pants. I hope at least one of the bullets in the Colt is iron, just in case.

I tilt my head to listen as she speaks, hazel eyes glimmering with confidence. Ah, so she's the manager. Does she give this much attention to all the new faces or is it just because I'm a fairy? I hope she's not looking to recruit that quickly. Wouldn't want to seem desperate. I like a little foreplay first, at least. She holds out her hand and introduces herself as Samantha Cassidy. I glance down and it doesn't take a fool to see the shake in her hand. How new of a manager is she? I return a warm smile and grasp her hand firmly, just enough to make me feel manly without feeling like I'm picking on a woman. "Troy Marks. I'm new in town. Just happened to see your sign out front and, well, I got thirsty." I hold up the drink she offered and take a sip.

I don't know why I gave my real name instead of an alias. Maybe because her nerves lets me know that maybe she can be trusted. A mastermind doesn't usually shake unless someone's pointing a gun at their head or they're just that good an actor. Of course she could be bluffing me but that's why I'm a sucker for eye contact. So far I'm not seeing any signs to tell me otherwise.
