East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The demure girl was entirely used to being forgotten. Ever since she had crossed that boundary between life and death, she had become something more of a wallflower then that girl in the spotlight she used to be. That transformation somehow crushed her once joyous spirit, it squashed that confidence and destroyed that ease and determination in which she had once faced the world. Now she was but a shadow of the girl she once was, not that her new found friends had even the slightest notion of the life she'd once led. She particularly liked it that way and yet, Chizue still found herself entirely caught off guard by her companion's simple admittance that he had been not only looking for her but also the extent in which he had gone through in order to find her. Checking every bookstore and cafe in which he'd come acrossed seemed like vastly more work then Chizue was even certain she was worth. The demure girl found herself simply staring at the man in front of her with a notable look of disbelief across her fair features. Her dark chocolate eyes followed him as he moved past her, so running his fingertips down the spine of her beloved books and yet, the girl hardly responded with even a word, entirely unsure of what she should say in that single moment.

Her head tilted to the side ever so inquisitively as he spoke, her eyebrows raising ever so slightly at his mention of that very journal he'd kept for so terribly long. A small simper fluttered across the girl's features as he turned back towards her. "I've always wanted to keep a journal...but I never know what to write in it..." Her voice trailed off as she glanced shyly up at him. She wanted to ask what it was he wrote in his, what thoughts filled the pages of his likely numerous volumes but, she was rather certain such an inquiry would be prying into personal details that were not meant for her ears. And so, instead, she found herself questioning after why he had come looking for her in the first place. After all, it was hardly as if she'd spent much time within his presence to foster any real kinship beyond their connection and mutual adoration for Isolt herself. Still, it was decidedly....nice to hear that he thought of her as a friend, those simple words alone so immediately brought a simper to the demure girl's features as her fingers so toyed with the black pages of the book in her hands.

His apology of his disappearance was so waved off with a flick of her slender wrist, "It's okay, really, I'm sure you had a lot of very important things to take care of." Chizue commented, a smile fluttering across her features. It was a habit to always assume the best in everyone. After all, she knew he loved Isolt and, despite how it had looked at the time, she had been certain that was one thing he could not abandon, even if it was something as silly as fear of commitment that drove him away - not that she would ever ask anyways. It was only natural, of course, for the petite young girl to inquire after her friend and, in turn, to ensure things between the pair were properly mended. That simple assurance he offered served to bring that smile back to her features as she nodded, quite happily so. The last thing Chizue had anticipated, however, as the small box that the man pulled from his pocket and the ring that rested within. For a moment, Chizue simply stared at it before glancing up at the man and too down back at it, as if questioning if this was actually what it was - a ring for proposal? It was his question that stirred her to life, the girl immediately shaking her head as she reached out to tenderly brush her slender fingertips over the surface. "No....no, it's perfect." She uttered softly, her voice more of akin to a whisper. "She'll love it."

In that moment, Chizue had completely forgotten the book within her hands, at least until the man before her so offered to purchase it for her. She could hardly deny that she so wanted that book, those very novels perhaps her only weakness that might cause her to break from social conventions and, with perhaps a bit more eagerness than usual, her head bobbed, leading the way towards the checkout counter. It was only his question that caused her to pause and glance over her shoulder, a glimpse of consideration so dancing upon her features. "I...made one new friend. HIs name is Kohl. He's a dark hunter but I helped him find a weapon to hunt with so the other hunters won't tease him anymore. He's really nice." She seemed quite pleased with herself in her success of so assisting her newfound companion and yet, even that was but fleeting before her thoughts turned pensive once again. "Well I...I moved in with Isolt. We moved to the East in this little townhome but...I'm sure you already know that." A small shrug crossed the girl's shoulders. Her life, in his absence, had remained as stagnant as perhaps it had ever been. In regards to her, at least, she was rather certain that he hadn't missed much.
