East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Fairy tales had never been the Macedonian man's forte. Their idealistic painting of princes' on gallant steeds in tightly fitted tunics with shoulder tassels was far from the actuality, a fact of which Alexander was all too painfully aware of. Still, there was some measure of probability to her otherwise improbable tale. After all, royal blood still flowed fast within the King's timeless veins. The titles he had held during his life, ones that had long since lost their meaning, made him far more of a prince, king, emperor, and pharaoh then any man in those fairy tales. The female was certainly an inquisitive creature to him, her timid nature drawing out something within that old and still soul. There was no pity within his sea-colored gaze. There was no sympathy or charity that drew his arms around her thin, feminine figure. If anything, Alexander was a man of passion. His attractions so often came abruptly, even if they were far and few between. Never the less, Alexander released the young woman only a few moment's later, the nagging sensation of her species closeness to his pounded at his skull. There were instincts buried somewhere deep within him, ones that urged him to kill and yet, the man made every effort to ensure they remained just that - a dull headache at best.

Alexander's attention, however, remained entirely steadfast upon the timid were as he assured her that his job offer was still perfectly valid. Whatever reaction the conquerer had anticipated, it certainly wasn't the brilliant grin that the man was presented with, the female practically managing to exude the clear elation she seemed to hold. She seemed to jump at the chance to start within his establishment, her enthusiasm entirely out of norm for the man. "Well...I haven't actually been in the cafe yet since it opened but...I'm sure we could use the help. The mornings are the busiest, naturally." If Alexander was able to take over all of Persia, he was quite certain he could manage the simple task of training the inquisitive woman during their morning rush. "I can start you at the register if you want and when it slows down I can teach you how to make something. Don't be astonished if our patrons are surly with you though, okay?" He inquired, his blue-green eyes intent upon her ask if to ensure she was really up to the challenge he presented her with. Frankly, Alexander would have hardly blame her.

His attention, however, quite immediately shifted in an effort to reassure the woman of whatever insecurity she so possessed from his absence. It was peculiar to him, the fact that someone had both noticed his lack of presence and that she had so much as even cared about it to begin with. For too long Alexander had the ability to come and go as he pleased with no one being the wiser. He had forgotten what it was like to have someone depend upon the continuity of his existence - though it was a feeling he found he quite....enjoyed. Regardless, the man listened intently to her inquiry, a small simper budding across his facade. "Once, that was exactly the reason why we couldn't stay for long. Now, however, I'm afraid I just...get complacent staying somewhere for too long." Alexander made a point to leave out the dangers that could exist for making himself too comfortable. After all, he was a hunter and the more he made his presence known, the more he made a perfect target for those of the other species who were not so willing to forgive all the lives his kind had taken.
