Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The Sun Also Rises

Those resounding French lyrics that so assured the King his lover fully intended on achieving at least some level of success come New Year's brought a ready grin of delight to his features. Dorian so having at last relaxed within this new home and indeed the embrace of this new, if not obscure, little family unit. So much so that his naturally teasing nature had seen itself return in those few minutes. Dorian, as always, offered little to no explanation of what such a game would entail, merely leaving his lover to wonder off it and yet, Sebastian's assurance that he would surely, by the end of that evening, manage to see those new red undergarments was amusing all the same. A part of the Fae very much assured he likely would, regardless of the outcome, another chuckle rising within his throat Sebastian's own somewhat impish look. He reclines with ease back upon that sofa then, the enjoyment of this evening and too that pleasant warmth of the room so seeing a ready contentment settle upon him in a fashion Dorian had never quite before achieved in room with more than one other being. He was used to a level of duty of sorts, a certain level of expectation- one that did not allow for him to lay about on sofas in the presence of company and yet this company was strikingly different to anything he had ever truly had. Servants or otherwise they were pleasant people, he was not opposed to their company. They, in turn, so hardly seemed to expect any particular action from him and truly it was almost a relief to simple- exist. Dorian was amused in turn at so watching Elizabeth talk excitedly of the book she had been given while Charles arranged his new DVD boxset. The Fae King so finding he enjoyed being given gifts, terribly so and yet, by that shame notion there was a distinct pleasure in having given gifts too. Such idle comments upon the notion of gifting passing his lips. Sebastian so suddenly assuring him they were not done.

It is with no small measure of surprise that he moves towards that Christmas tree, plucking the little red box from beneath it before returning to his seat at his lovers side. It takes but a moment to remove that wrapping paper, revealing that little golden device within, Dorian so immediately taken by the colour enough to declare it was clearly- an object he hadn't seen before. Sebastian seeming almost amused at this declaration as the servants so began to clean up and hurry off into the kitchen in an effort to prepare the dining room. Dorian affording them little thought now as his lover moved to activate that device, somehow, the small screen suddenly coming to life and so seizing the Fae King's attention in its entirety. How he loved technology! Even though he was, at times quite fearful of it. It amazed him no end, his mind never ceasing to find itself in awe of what man had created. Cars perhaps, had taken the most getting used to. Dorian assured for months they were alive and that to ride within them would see himself consumed and yet even they had proven to be nothing in comparison to the plane that had taken to get here. A machine that allowed one to cross countries! He was in awe of it, even if he had very near been carried on by his vampire companion, such was his concern over it. This device however, like the Letter Sender, was a thrill of a far more manageable size, his eyes moving to read the list of titles appearing on the screen, Dorian making little sense of them as Sebastian commanded them with ease.

Those headphones so suddenly offered towards him however saw a clear look of both surprise and indeed inquisitiveness upon his features, his consort so easily placing one ear phone within his ear before doing the same with the second. The Monarch so utterly confused there was little he could do save for stare. What sort of modern device required wearing? Surely he looked silly. A hint of wariness so overcoming him then as Sebastian glanced upward before taping the device. The sudden influx of music was so entirely unexpected the Fae King is very near given to jolt backward in surprise, a gasp of alarm upon his lips, silver eyes entirely wide as he was momentarily given to search for the source of the sound and whomever it was that was playing the piano. How busy his mind was in attempting to understand! His thoughts shifting from fear and alarm to curiosity and intrigue and awe and wonderment and at last to delight all within the space of that single played piece. He was dimly aware of Sebastian's soft hum in time with that tune, that grin upon his features entirely dazzling even if he remained somewhat unsure still as to just how it worked. Both hands reach easily upward as Sebastian removed those headphones, Dorian rubbing at his ears momentarily in response to that sensation of newness before his lover moved to explain the use of the Music Player and the name of the composure whose music it shared. How clever Sebastian was, to have learned how to have it play just what he wanted!

"Ah, it is like a radio?"

Samantha had taught him of radio. Dorian having learned some months ago how to turn it on and off and yet what it played could not be controlled. Not like this. This was far, far better. The vampires mention that he had somehow placed the music within it so saw his features soften if only for the notion of how very much he knew Sebastian adored music in the way he himself adored painting. The meaning of such a gift, at last, perhaps making itself clearer to the man now as his companion stood, Dorian allowing one hand to reach for the man's own and halt him for but a moment from proceeding into that dining room. It was easy then to lean forward, pressing his lips gently to the man's own in that sweet kiss before leaning away.

"Thank you, Mon Cher, for sharing your music with me. It is a beautiful gift."

After all, he knew well what music meant to his lover, that such a gift might be filed with those pieces Sebastian himself had chosen and loved in turn surely made it all the more endearing. He moved to follow the vampire then into the dining room, that Music Player tucked into his pocket as he followed Sebastian to the head of the table before taking that seat of importance to the right of the man. How glorious such a setting was! Those trimmings of golden colour hardly missed by the Fae whom adored them so readily, the silver of his gaze drifting over foods he had never seen before and yet took delight in all the same. Perhaps he was rarely given to eat and yet even he so found himself enticed by what existed before him. It was a simple matter then, of so passing his plate, Dorian somehow finding it returned to him but a moment later with at least a small serving of just about everything- the Monarch so eyeing that plate now, until unsure as to whether he was capable of consuming so much food! His gaze was cast sideways, attempting to discover just what part of the meal should be eaten first, each person at the table seeming to have chosen something different to begin with. Dorian moving to follow Sebastian's lead and so select that sausage of sorts within the pastry wrap, surprise so touching his features at the taste. The obscure food better than he had anticipated.

What was perhaps, most curious of all however was that ready flow of conversation! They talked. All of them. Elizabeth regaling Elaine with a tale of traffic within the city while Charles listened on, adding his own opinion whenever it seemed warranted as Giles, in turn, so inquired to Sebastian about some manner of business regarding deer. How curious it was. Dorian so entirely used to silent meals and those he had eaten alone for several hundred years that he is near taken aback. His features softening all the same at the realisation that it was pleasant. He had simply forgotten it. How foolish it seemed that he had! His own name uttered suddenly sees his head lift, Giles speaking to both Sebastian and himself now, asking after that impending trip to Naples before declaring Dorian must surely be keen to see his home once more. The faintest of frowns so touched his features. The Fae King truly undecided as to what he felt in regards to it at all.

"I look forward to some aspects of it- yes."

Giles, seemingly satisfied with this, was content to engage Charles now. Dorian momentarily pondering a Brussel sprout before slipping it between his lips. This perhaps the first food he did not like. What a perfectly sinful vegetable! He should be forced to eat it now all the same, the look upon his features in that single moment surely giving way to just that thought before he managed to swallow it. He should make every effort to avoid them in future. His attention returning then to Sebastian, assured the vampire had not seen the Brussel sprout incident all the same.

"Do you know, there is much of my home I look forward to showing you and yet too- I have so enjoyed being away from it- if that makes any sense? I never thought the world was as big as it was and you, you have showed me more of it in months then I would have ever seen alone in years. They are going to want me to stay and I have no intention of that. Yet, I fear telling them all the same, hopeless creature that I am."

A simper tugs at his own lips, a soft chuckle humming within his throat and yet it was nothing short of the truth. Such concerns so having played upon his mind of late and yet was it not the job of his boyfriend to hear them?
