Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

but not enough to get attached

That explanation he was provided certainly served to put the undead man at ease. There was something that made the vampire far more distraught at the notion that there might have been a soul wandering his own halls unchecked. That he was, instead, merely a vision of the future was a far more favorable outcome. A soft breath left his lips, his head bobbing ever so slightly in understanding and yet, Sebastian hardly anticipated Matteo's inquiry on his own career, nor did he expect that he had been surrounded by those deer and the status symbol they had beheld. It was with a warm simper on his features at Dorian's reaction to the simple notion of him farming that the man made an effort to surely explain the meaning behind that vision and exactly what sort of business the vampire was involved within. He rarely spoke of that coal mines he oversaw, in truth, much less the sheer number of achievements that had once been attached to that Ellington name. However, tonight, he found himself desiring to be viewed as an entirely acceptable match for his lover - to display his wealth, the good standing of his name, the Queen's favor and whatever little else he had of value to make him appear worthwhile for a King. It had been so long since such an inclination had struck him and yet, he found himself entirely pleased by the fashion in which Dorian's father in turn seemed satisfied with his answer.

He fell silent in those moments after, fully allowing that silence to be filled with an idle inquiry that had, apparently, filled his lover's mind ever since it had first been spoken of the prior evening. His head tilted to the side ever so slightly and yet, Sebastian hardly anticipated the answer in which Matteo provided the pair of men in return. The Englishman could hardly help the simper that warmed his features at the true extent of how utterly happy the King had been since their unexpected union. In truth, the Italian fae had always seemed relatively cheerful, even when their meetings had primarily been for those experiences they had shared between the sheets of his bed. He could scarcely fathom the man Dorian had been prior to his release from that gilded prison and yet, truly, he found he hardly wanted to consider it. For so long, he had been entirely dedicated to ensuring his lover felt nothing but that joy and even now, he had little intention of stopping that. His indigo gaze met those silver eyes the King, their features mirroring the same level of contentment. His listened as his lover paused, the King confirming that not only was he happy, but that he was, perhaps, the happiest he had been for the entirety of his existence. That simple sentence managed to produce such an emotion within the vampire, even if scarce a word left his lips in the wake of that admittance.

It was, however, the mention of that gift that saw the vampire's eyebrows raise ever so slightly. He hardly anticipated a gift and yet, he supposed that given what he knew now of Matteo's talent, it was, perhaps, unsurprising. After all, he hadn't the slightest idea of how long the Italian fae had known of this inevitable moment. What he was aware of, perhaps immediately so, was that Matteo had asked the King of Italy to simply fetch something. It was, perhaps, a small gesture and yet it spoke volumes to the vampire that, whatever was coming next, was likely the sort of conversations fathers so often imparted upon the suitors of their children. God, how he often strove to avoid these very sort of things and, nearly immediately, whatever ease Sebastian had once felt at Dorian's admittance that he was happy was but erased in the wake of a prospect of such a talk. His darkly hued gaze briefly met Dorian's own, a small shrug crossed his shoulders at that questioning look his lover provided him. He watched as the King rose to leave that parlour and, in turn, Sebastian alone with the man who was so entirely capable of setting him on edge with just the slightest of syllables.

His indigo gaze immediately turned to the man at his side, entirely expecting the way in which Matteo's lips parted. His head nodded in slightly understanding that, for this conversation, it was perhaps best that such usual niceties were traded for such candor. After all, they had particularly little time before his lover returned with that gift in hand. In truth, he supposed he had not terribly considered the possibility that it would be his species that Matteo drew such offense to, though it was a fact of his life he was also particularly used to. His kind was often stereotyped against for their simple need for blood, though Sebastian couldn't entirely fault them. His head bobbed yet again, as Matteo spoke of the rarity that was father and son, much less his own utter infatuation for the blood that ran through their veins. "I understand." He uttered softly as the Frenchman admitted his reservations. The vampire fell silent once again, simply watching the elder fae's features with the expectation that this was hardly the end of such a conversation.

His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly at the warm simper he was presented with but moments later. A soft breath left his lips at Matteo's admittance that he had seen not only Sebastian's past but too his present and, bits of his future. His lips pressed together ever so slightly, the vampire wholly uncomfortable with the notion that those bits of his life he strove well to keep not only from his own mind, but from those of others had so easily been observed by this fae, no less. Still, Sebastian hardly spoke on the topic, instead offering but a nod of confirmation but moments later when his religion was so inquired of. "Yes, sir." He voiced softly before allowing the Frenchman to continue on unhindered. Matteo's admittance that he saw little reason to hinder their relationship was something of a comfort and yet, it wasn't until the man voiced that he approved that the smallest glimpse of a simper crossed his features. "Thank you, it's been a pleasure to get the chance to meet Dorian's family." He spoke, admitting vaguely in those moments that he knew well exactly not only what this was but also whom the man across from him was. "I hope for the opportunity to get to know you better....than just one day every few years." It was perhaps bold of him to suggest the Frenchman stay for longer than he had and yet, Sebastian had at least somewhat of an indication that his lover enjoyed the time in which Matteo decided to linger within these halls - and that, surely, was worth the decided impoliteness.

He scarcely had the moment, however, to comment further on the thought that lingered most predominantly upon his mind before the King himself walked back through those doors, holding a rather large package by the looks of it. He could scarcely help but to wonder exactly what was hidden between that brown paper wrapping if even Dorian so struggled with the weight of it. His gaze shifted from the Monarch to the book to Matteo and back again, the vampire reaching forward to assist in that unwrapping of the end Dorian so presented to him. It was hardly difficult to so distinguish exactly what the object was, the simple fact that it was a book meant it fell vastly more into Dorian's realm then his own, enough to cause the vampire to settle back in his chair with his coveted tea. He watched as the Monarch flipped through the pages, that flourished handwriting giving way to that more modern printing press. It was only about then that Sebastian started seeing faces he recognized, enough to make him rise as Matteo began explaining exactly what the book before them was.

"Ah, Norma..." He muttered softly, his fingers gingerly reaching out to brush across the picture of that actress he'd once quite intimately known. He flipped several pages back in history, his own navy gaze gracing over the contents of those years and events and people he'd lived through. "I think, Ma Bichette, this is one for you to take your time with, you are going to have so many questions..." He could already hear it now, the sheer number of inquiries that would no doubt arise from such clippings and yet, he was hardly opposed to it in the slightest, instead, Sebastian spared himself a moment to look back upon that history with some hint of fondness. "This was...quite the undertaking..." The vampire admitted softly, glancing up at Matteo enough to voice his own sort of thanks, "I have to admit, I am impressed." The effort required for something of this nature was certainly not lost upon him, much less the time involved. It was clear to him, that in those moments, despite the amount of time the Frenchman had been gone, his thoughts had clearly never strayed from his son.
