Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The disfigured woman continued to eat her meal in a calm and orderly fashion. It did not surprise her one bit that the other girl was famished. It could be said that the best way for two individuals to bond, especially if they were a Were, was through food. Food was a necessity. To share food meant you were showing a truce, showing a sign that one could be trustworthy. Perhaps, that is why she was able to befriend the leopard King. They were kindred, in some sort of fashion. Even though they were feline and canine, they still had the basic foundations of needs and desires. Neither one was in a pack, but the last time she had met up with him he smelled of others, two felines male and female, and that was when she realized he wasn't alone...like her. She had found comradery in him, but as much as he tracked her down and wanted to spend time with her, even though she enjoyed it, she felt conflicted. He was a creature that had his own pack, but why would he bother to spend time with her? It was something she could not understand and she never asked. She was far too desperate for a friend and any one would do. They had hunted together, fed together, and certain nights, she slept near him. She wasn't sure if he was wanting to have two packs and be in charge of one, but whatever he wanted, she could at least receive the ability to fulfill her want to be among another. It was only natural.

Alexis was the first female canine she had come across. She had yet to approach another female Were. The only canine she was aware of was a larger male wolf, one that she had helped the WereLeopard create a deal. She didn't have to do anything in the deal. She was not required to protect his pawnshop. She had a free place to sleep, should she want some company, even though she didn't necessary trust either males. Males were, after all, not creatures to be trusted. She had yet to find one to even attempt such a thing. Not once had she felt the need to attach herself to another before, the will to be in a pack. All she had seen, while being in a pack, was nothing but suffering from cruelty by not just her Father, but from others as well. Seeing another Were, a smaller one, had brought her a sense of comfort. She did not want to control the other. That would never be her intention. A small grin appeared on her pink lips when she heard the other girl shyly voice her approval of her name. Her name was nothing, but mud to her pack, but to hear that it was pretty well, her cheeks couldn't help but change a shade of light pink from embarrassment. When the girl answered her innocent question, she would shrug her shoulders, blue-grey eyes shifting upwards.

"Well, if you need a place to stay, food, or maybe some company? I...I wouldn't mind."

Truly she was being kind. She knew what it was like to be alone, knowing no one or anything. No one helped her out, but she never really gave anyone a chance. She would run from her problems, run form the tormenting pain in her mind when she thought of her old life. She knew it was best to stay within her favored form. She felt so much better being able to be the thing she was always meant to be. Her pack did not like her shifting, they assumed she was dangerous, and perhaps they were right...if they knew how to control. Yet everyone attacks what they fear most. When the girl posed her own question, she couldn't help but give her a confused look.

"Hide and seek? I wasn't allowed to play."

Actually no one really wanted to play with her. She was left to herself. It is one thing for adults to ignore you, but those of her own age, when none of her fellow pups wanted to play, well it was enough affirm that she was not wanted. When both were finished with their food, she would take it slowly and head for the sink turning on the water as she washed it, placing the washed dishes into the dishwasher before turning around folding her arms as she leaned against the green granite countertop.

"I feel better, when I shift you know? Safer. Happier. But...I'm trying to stay like this, if only, for a while."

I'd Rather Feel Pain Then Nothing At All
