East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

This was perhaps one of the few places in the world where the demure Asian vampire felt as if she could belong. In those few years after her death and fall from the limelight, she had hidden in a place much like this. The books had been her only friend for years, and those timid and curious individuals that haunted the rows just like this had been her only victims. It was fitting, in a way, that she should find her way back here even if it was in a different store in a different city. Still, Chizue hardly anticipated to be interrupted in her entirely captivated reading, least of all by a friendly face! The sound of his name upon her lips caused a cry to echo from her mouth and yet, but seconds later, that recognition filled her pale features. Still, she hadn't really meant for her reaction to be so utterly telling of the thoughts that danced across her features. Then again, Chizue had never been particularly good at hiding her more bashful emotions. She could hide anger and annoyance and sadness the same way any from her culture could but this? Her body eternally seemed to give her away. The young woman's head shook from side to side ever so slightly as she stumbled over her words. "Oh, no no, I just...I didn't expect to find you here.....or you to find me here...or um....you to like books?" Then again, she wasn't even she he was here for the books to begin with.

It was that very mystery that he solved but moments later, reassure her that he was actually looking for her, such a fact alone was entirely astonishing for the girl and slowly her dark chocolate eyes turned upwards towards him, entirely mystified that a man such as him was looking for her. "But...why?" She inquired, the question falling from her lips before she could catch herself and quickly, that look of amazement was replaced entirely with a glimpse of embarrassment as her eyes fell to the floor. Chizue was all too aware of that teasing tone to his voice and already her long fingers began to play with the edge of her book's cover in an entirely bashful fashion. "I um....we didn't think that you'd come back." She muttered softly, entirely unsure of what was acceptable to voice in a situation such as this. Politeness, after all, was the very epicenter of Chizue's culture. "But, we both missed you very much and we were worried about you." She stated simply, nodding firmly as if it somehow showed her resoluteness within this.

Her gaze slowly shifted upwards as she inquired after how things were between the man in front of her and the woman she called her best of friends, not that Chizue really had many friends in the first place. She could tell his own thoughts shifted from them for a moment and yet, the young girl did her best not to comment on it, hoping simply that it was a happy thought that occupied his mind. Still, his answer brought the first hint of a smile to hear features as she replied without missing a beat, "Good, I'm glad to hear that." Slowly, Chizue brought her book down from her chest, holding it lightly within her hands as she inquired if there was something that Damon wanted to get for Isolt here. After all, a part of her could scarcely believe she had made enough of an impact within his life to be missed. The youthful vampire shifted ever so slightly from one foot to the other as Damon inquired after weather or not she had a book in mind for her companion. Her head shook from side to side, her ebony locks shifting with the simple movement. "No, I'm sure whatever you got her will be perfect." The girl responded, entirely faithful in the man in front of her. It was only at the mention of her own book that her gaze slowly fell to the clutched item and slowly, the timid girl nodded, "I would like that." She responded, presenting him with a warm grin before her head tilted to the side. "Everything I've been up to?" She inquired, entirely unsure of what to say. After all, Chizue's life had been relatively stagnant since Damon's departure, except for moving in with Isolt into the East. Certainly she'd met a few people but....were any of them particularly worth sharing? Perhaps Kohl....
