Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Residences
Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

It wasn't until the pair found their seats in the warm dimness of the ornate room that the vampire found himself finally relaxing. Here, in the dining room, the atmosphere somehow seemed more at ease then it had been in the waiting room and the foyer. His kind were often not the most patient of individuals, especially when so surrounded by the wildcard of their own kind. It was a dangerous dance that was so cautiously weaved within those four walls and yet, one that succeeded perhaps solely for the benefit of each of his kind's companion. Those lovers, those friends, those business partners, the family members, they all had a way of keeping their vampiric companion in check, of that even Sebastian had little doubt. Regardless, the space that existed between the tables was certainly enough to bring some measure of comfort back in the vampire, enough so to allow his own gaze to turn fully, and with a level of noteable inquisitiveness, towards the menu he had but moments ago been presented with. He could hardly deny his own curiosity at how they might so mix the blood so evenly into the dishes they prepared, much less if it would be as delectable as the menu so claimed it would be.

Regardless, his blue eyes briefly fluttered upwards towards his lover, so voicing those words of gratitude that Dorian would put such effort for his behalf. It was a gesture that was entirely treasured if only for how rare it was the vampire was doted on in such a fashion. His own wrist briefly waved away the fae's concerns that the blood he would consume tonight was hardly human. It was a fact that he himself was well aware of, the menu was all too keen to inform him of such, the source of each dish's blood was printed ever so neatly beside each item. The creators of this establishment most certainly had to be vampiric themselves to so take note of the distinct flavors that even the nuances of different animals bloods might afford their dishes, much less their assurances that everything was entirely organic and grass fed. Even the chemicals and pesticides that might afflict their blood source, much less the flavor of the nutrients within their supply - everything was so meticulously considered that it was almost astonishing. Still, it only served to make Sebastian entirely inquisitive if such care had also been put forward into his lover's menu, even if he suspected well that it had. It was that curiosity that so saw him inquire as Dorian's desires for this evening.

That duck dish that the King had chosen certainly sounded delightful, the vampire holding fond memories of the taste of duck, particularly when he'd visited China last. It had been quite the delicacy there, slathered in an acidic sauce that was none the less utterly delicious. Sebastian nodded ever so slightly in an appraising fashion before Dorian mentioned his own ignorance of a wine sauce. The vampire's eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly in a questioning manner. "No? Do they not cook with wine in Naples?" He questioned, altogether oblivious entirely to the state of food the King had eaten over the years. He had known, surely, that Dorian had been stuck within his palace for centuries but he hadn't considered the true extent of even small advances in something as simple as cooking. However, he hardly ignored the monarch's question on his own choices for the evening, Sebastian certainly had already critically eyed each side of that menu to the fullest of his extent. "Roasted Red Pepper and Cannellini Soup with sirloin tips in a red wine sauce and a marbled strawberry cheesecake bar." Oh yes, Sebastian had already fully decided each course he intended to indulge in.

He had placed his own menu down upon his companion's, his own attention pulled from the prospect of food only by Dorian's far softer tone. The King's concern, however, was disregarded with the smallest shake of his head. After all, the topic was hardly insulting or improper to the vampire. It was true, he hardly spoke of his preference in taste when it so came to blood but such silence was often only due to the simple fact that the conversation of such often was unsettling to those not of the same species as himself. "It depends. The blood of a deer is far more appealing than a drug dealer in an alleyway. However, no animal would compare to the taste of yourself, Ma Bichette." A small simper crossed his features at his admittance of how utterly appealing he found the man across from him in more ways than one. "I don't know for sure if we are able to live merely off of animals. I have never tried. It is looked down upon amongst our species to deny ourselves in such a manner. Of course, there are desperate times and special occasions but....to live that way?" He shook his head ever so slightly and yet, truthfully, Sebastian had never considered attempting to live off creatures in such a fashion. Their blood didn't appeal to him nearly as much as that of the human-like races. He found himself unable to deny himself around them.

It was but seconds later that a waiter appeared at their side, prepared to take their order. The glass of wine was hardly surprising in and of itself and yet, the darker hue to his own glass saw Sebastian pause ever so slightly. To infuse blood with wine was a precarious effort. Blood chilled was far thicker and warm? Well, reheating was of importance. It made him hesitant to so indulge in that wine and yet, he still brought the glass to his nose to so sniff it before, cautiously, sipping at the deep red wine within. A look of surprise crossed his features as he took another sip of it, his inspection of the wine entirely interrupted by Dorian's own observation. "Hm?" He inquired, glancing up and around him for a brief moment to make note of that which the King had so effortlessly picked up on. "No, not particularly." He stated simply, placing his wine down before he leaned forward ever so slightly, his voice soft as he offered the ever curious fae an explanation he knew Dorian would so want.

"There are certain benefits, of course, to choosing a non-vampire companion - such as never having to worry of blood. Our food source is often a point of great concern, particularly in younger vampires. And of course, someone to ensure we are safe during the daylight hours. There are also benefits to choosing one of our own kind, immortality, of course. Or the simple fact that we need not hold back when it comes to...other activities. However, the reason that I think there are so few vampire couples here though, is even simpler. If you have a vampire companion, they can hunt, feed, and share a meal together as often as they see fit. They have no need for places like this." It was certainly a level of intimacy, of togetherness that the vampire certainly would never find with his lover - the thrill of the hunt and the victory of a well deserved meal and yet, this was hardly a concept that the vampire was so concerned of. After all, love cared not for the benefits of species and Sebastian was, very much, in love.
