Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

He seemed to find amusement in pretty much anything she said. She could probably say that she was going to the moon and he would just quirk that lip and leave it at that. Did he never laugh? She would have to get him to laugh somehow, if only to see if he could make the sound. He was trying his best to explain everything to her and she appreciated it. She just didn't think she would ever truly understand it. She didn't have a need or want for this stuff they call money. So far she'd come across everything pretty much free of charge, except for the people she had to talk to but that wasn't a chore or anything. She'd met Henry who gave her shelter and clothes and now Frost who offered her shelter and yet more clothes. She got food from both which was always a plus.

Miyako met her on the street and then she offered her food and clothes. It seemed everyone was out to give something to someone so maybe she wouldn't ever really have to pay for something. He told her that she wouldn't have to work which was fine by her and that if she wanted extra money, she'd have to come up with it. She didn't see any reason why she'd want extra money to begin with. What would she do with it? Stare at it for hours? Burn it? Eat it? Naw, she was good without it. Then he said he didn't want to bail her out of jail and when her brow raised in question, he told her it was a cage where people put you when you steal things. She curled her lip,s howing her fangs at the thought of a cage. Hell no. She wouldn't let anyone put her in a cage like some damn dog. She sighed and rolled her eyes.

He then asked after her clothes and looked at them over on the floor as if they offended him or something. What? They were warm. That's all he cared about. She watched as he got up and went over to a basket in another room before bringing some more clothes over. They looked smaller for one. Were they even going to fit? She wrinkled her nose as she sniffed them. They smelled like someone else, another girl. He told her to shift and put them on and that he would be waiting. She raised a brow at him, watching him go. Why did he have to leave? He acted as shy as Henry sometimes. Oh well. Guess she'd have to do the whole shift thing now. That was going to be the hardest part.

Taking a deep breath, she stared at her paws, trying to feel that fire again. This time, it was a little easier to find it and when she did, she didn't get surprised like last time. She clenched her jaws and worked on spreading it, wiggling her toes as she forced them into fingers. There! She didn't stop it though, letting it roll over her shoulders and she only cried out one time as her ribcage started resizing itself, her backbone uncurving and her head reshaping itself until she was a sweating human girl again on all fours on the floor. Damn. That still hurt. She was panting but she slowly reached for the clothes and pulled them on. The jeans were a little tighter than Henry's. She could almost wear these without a belt. Then she pulled the shirt on. Now this thing was a lot smaller. Oh well. It even showed her stomach! So much for staying warm.

She sighed as she pushed her hair behind her ears and stood up. She was a little shaky this time but overall not too bad. Yeah, she could do this. Smirking, she moved outside where Frost was leaning against the house. Did he have to sit or lean everywhere he went? His head nodded and she thought she saw approval in his eyes though she didn't know if it was because the clothes fit better or because she had shifted. Either way, she shrugged it off as she fell into step with him. At least this was better than getting in one of those weird wheeled things she saw moving around. Those things were dangerous. She'd seen too many of her kind almost get killed running in front of them. As they came to the entrance of the store, she was looking for a door handle and stepped back with a gasp as the doors opened for them automatically. It knows! She watched as the doors closed, taking a tentative step forward and she giggled with glee when they opened again. They were magic!

Seems the human world was full of this stuff. Finally seeing Frost was probably waiting on her and none too patiently, I assume, she finally stepped delicately into the store, her body stiffening when she looked around and saw more than a few humans in this place. It was still instinctive for her not to trust humans. There were so many smells here, and some of the people were staring. Could they tell she didn't belong? Did they see a coyote when they looked at her? Panic kicked in and her eyes flashed blue, her hands tightening into fists and she gasped when she felt her fingers sharpen into claws and pierce her own hands. The pain somehow triggered her to calm down though, her eyes going back brown as she stepped closer to Frost. She started walking with him and her eyes fell on the first store with the mannequins, raising a brow at the statue that looked so human-like and yet wasn't. Walking closer, she leaned in to sniff the mannequin, lifting the clothes to look at the hard plastic skin. How...strange.

She poked it and looked at Frost in question.

"What are the point of these?"

He told her to tell him if she liked something and she crossed her arms, trying to cover her exposed stomach. It was so cold in here. It was like they had air blowing on her from the walls! When she saw a store with winter clothing, she looked at the fur coats and gasped, running from Frost's side to see what they had. She ran her fingers over the fabric. It was so soft and so warm! She sniffed at the fur jackets, wrinkling her nose. Most of them were fake but every once in a while, she got a whiff of the wild. Wolves, bears....her lips curled in anger.

"They're killing animals to make these!"

She growled. An attendent who was walking toward them stopped dead in her tracks at the murderous look Malia gave her. She snarled and the woman gasped, turning to walk very fast back to wherever it was that she came from. Her incredulous gaze turned to Frost. Couldn't they do something about this?
