Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The faerie girl was certainly not one to sit on the floor of the apartment, and she was certainly not one to cower in fear and sob. Samantha prided herself in constantly seeing the good in everything. She prided herself in making sure she was positive always. It had been her personal way of saying that the girls that had slit her throat and given her this lifestyle would not win. If she let them win, she wasn't sure what she would do with herself. And yet here she was, completely terrified by the very idea that they were in the city looking for her. And it wasn't even sure that those were the girls. They could have been anyone. But no, Samantha knew without a doubt in the pit of her stomach that they were exactly the same.

She heard the sound of the door and the faerie girl spun towards the door, her heart racing until she heard the familiar sound of the key in the lock. It was only then did she turn back to slump forward. Only two people in the world besides herself had a key to her apartment. Dorian, and Aiden. Two people she felt safest around, and two people that she was certain were not going to harm her in any way. The faerie girl didn't react at all when Dorian burst into the room. It was common for him to come in shouting out something that had happened on his outing. From ice cream vendors to screaming children to the outfits of the peasants outside, nothing was uncommon. As such, the faerie girl hardly paid attention to the words that came out of his mouth.

She was aware of the way he huffed as he spoke, though she hardly cared for his antics at the moment. No, the despair and fear that she felt at the moment outweighed any care for the other fae. It was only when he stood in front of her, inquiring her name did she look up. Like any other time, it was clear that the man was confused, only this time the woman had no patience to explain the emotions she felt to him. She had no words for the reality of her fears. The realities that she pressed to him and how she told him to stay careful outdoors.

"I... I'm.... I'm f-fine... D-Dorian..." She managed throughout her sobs, her gaze settled upon his feet rather than the man himself. She was sure that she sounded terribly unconvincing, and yet that was all she had in herself at the moment. She merely tugged the blanket further around herself as he seemed content to stand there and stare at her. Normally she would have chased him off, but now she felt almost... protected under his gaze. Protected and, well, very vulnerable.

She was about to ask him to leave when he sat down beside her, the tease and humor to his words allowing for the briefest halt in her sobs. Still, he surprised her even more as his arm went around her - she hugged him sometimes, but he'd never initiated any physical contact between the pair - and pulled her into him. Instinctively, the girl turned and buried her face into his chest as she wrapped her arms around him and held him near her.

The Italian words that slipped from his lips were hardly understood by the girl, though she could have guessed their meaning before he translated them into English. Samantha tensed, her eyes squeezing shut as she contemplated. She could have lied and told him that nothing was going on, though the lack of the positivity the girl seemed to always radiate would have given her away. No, she would tell him. Him alone, because he was her right hand. He was the one she went to for almost everything. He was the one she trusted with her monarchy. Her best friend. Dorian.

"I'm in danger, Dori," She said quietly, the words very nearly broken up by the sobs. She shifted against his side, pulling the blanket closer around her. The sobs, it seemed, had drained every ounce of energy and heat from the girl. "The... the girls who changed me... they're after me. They think that I'm... they think that I belong to them. They want to get to me. They're in the city. Killing. Trying to find me." Speaking the words out loud seemed to make the situation only more real, the intensity of her crying amplified.

"I'm... I'm sc... scared... Dorian..." She gasped out between her sobs. "I don't know... what to do..."
