West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Black Market

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.

Edge of the Circle

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

My life has become a boring routine and I hate it. I live my days avoiding others on the Ark, staying away from the fighting ring and skipping rocks on the water from the dock. Everyone has been staying in more since losing Aiden and it's very depressing. I still feel so badly for Tobias and Raven. I can tell their hearts are shattered. You can see it in their eyes. Even Jackal is less hateful to me lately and he mopes around. The ring was shut down for a few days in Aiden's memory so it was more peaceful around the Ark but still depressing. I admit, I'm sad about his death too, but it didn't get to me like it did them because I'm not pack and I never got to know him that well.

He was nice to me once and I healed him once but that was about as far as our encounters went. I didn't know the man or alpha that he was but I know from how Tobias and Raven are feeling like he was a good one. I haven't seen Nadya around to gauge her feelings though I'm sure she's crushed. He was her brother, after all.

At night I wander around the West side, looking for something to do or someone to befriend. I haven't had a lot of run-ins with hunters since the night I came back into town so it's been pretty quiet and lonely. On days that I'm not at the Ark, I'm working at Alexander's cafe. I got my old job back so I write the orders on the coffee cups. I've gotten very efficient at it and I love talking to the customers now. I smile at them and it seems to brighten their days up a little. Plus I get to see him, at least in quick glimpses. We haven't had a lot of time for private moments but I think I feel him looking at me sometimes. It's always enough to warm my cheeks for a few moments and make me flustered before I can recompose myself.

Tonight is not a night I want to spend avoiding others or skipping rocks though. I want to do something. More than that, I NEED to do something. So I took to the streets, patrolling, knowing that I would have a weapon at the twitch of a finger. It's so much more fulfilling, knowing I'm never really unarmed, never really defenseless. Where I used to be scared to walk the streets alone, now I cherish the time I get to get away from it all and just think. I know most Weres feel comfortable in a pack but I am packless. I see the people in Sacrosanct finding love and yet I am not in love, at least not yet. Any time someone talks about their other half, I think of Alexander but I know nothing is official and I don't know if that's even what he wants.

He was so straight forward when I got back, pulling me up to the loft to ask about us, as if he needed to know that I still care. As if I could ever stop caring about him. He's the only man I think of when emotions get high. He's the touch I yearn for and the lips I crave. I don't want to push him into anything though. I don't want to get my hopes up and get my heart crushed. We still barely know each other and it's against our very nature to be together. Knowing how old he is now, I still am in wonder that he would ever stay interested in a girl like me. I'm not special. I'm just me.

I try to brush the distracting thoughts away, especially since I can already hear the muffled footsteps behind me of someone trying to sneak up on me. I guess someone took the bait tonight. A woman out alone at night in the worst part of town. It was only a matter of time, I guess, especially with the Nightshade pack more cooped up than normal. I continue walking, keeping up the ruse and then I suddenly feel arms tightening around me, cold disgusting skin touching mine as he wraps them around my waist and goes to pick me up. "Where you going, pretty lady?" I hear his slimy voice whisper next to my ear, too close. Close enough to leave a trace of saliva on my neck and I wrinkle my nose in distaste.

I struggle and his arms tighten, enough to hurt my ribs so I use what Frost was teaching me, pulling my shield up in a wave of energy that knocks the man back and away from me suddenly. "What the?" He calls out as he hits the ground and I stumble forward before turning on him, trying to catch my breath as I pull up my bow, the arrow already notched. The man throws his arms up. "Whoa, whoa, you're not gonna kill me, are you? I'm sorry, I was just lonely, that's all!" He's pleading now, a pitiful sound. His eyes are even welling up and I know he must be human. Otherwise he would have attacked by now, right? My hands remain steady, the arrow aimed at his heart.

I was hoping for action. What I wasn't hoping for was a dilemma.
