Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Amelia seemed to be running on auto pilot by this point. It was like she'd done this before or something but Troy already knew that she'd never been a mother before and of course she never thought she would be. He knew they were right to do this at home but it didn't make it any easier. He hated seeing her like this and not being able to offer something to help. He didn't know what would help a vampire in pain besides blood and it wasn't like she could focus on drinking while she was pushing another life out of her. The massages seemed to be helping. He could feel her leaning into his fingers. But then she cried out and he cringed for her, making himself breathe in and out slowly and hoping that she would try to focus on the sound and ease her own breathing accordingly. He glanced down between her legs and back at her, wondering if at any moment, he would see a little crown of hair down there or something. He didn't even know what it would look like. He was so in over his head here.

The moment she said to help her onto the bed, he nodded instantly and helped lift her legs to put them underneath her so she could sit on the bed. He was already easing himself in behind her when she said it, building the pillows up behind his back to hold them up and putting one of the softest ones between them so she would have something to lay her back into if she needed it. He moved her hair back from her head and kissed her on her forehead gently, murmuring soft encouragement in her ear. She leaned back against him and he smiled, massaging her arms and her sides, anything to help ease her pain. He watched as she reached for a towel, helping her grab it if necessary to lay it across her chest. He wasn't sure at this point the reason for everything but having a lot of towels somehow made sense. the baby would be all wet when it came out, right? Another contraction wracked her body and she screamed, her hands digging into his knees and he bit his bottom lip and clenched his jaw, trying to keep back his own whimper even as he continued making himself breathe in and out and held onto her gently.

"You can do this, Amelia. You can do this." He encouraged her softly. His head snapped up, already in protection mode but luckily it was just the doctor coming in. He noted the look on the butler's face before he disappeared back through the doorway and maybe if he wasn't feeling like he was about to lose both knee caps by now, he might have found amusement in that or even anger that another man saw her private areas but at this point, he couldn't think straight. All he knew was he was relieved the doctor was here to take over. He listened as she told Amelia not to push so she could get her gloves on and his anxiety built up. What if the baby started to suffocate? He had to remind himself that that doctor knew what she was doing and hopefully this would work out. By the time the doctor sat down in front of Amelia, she pushed and when Troy glanced down, he saw something this time. His eyes widened like saucers as he took it in. A head. It was a head. He didn't know whether to faint or cry or both so instead he just swallowed and got a goofy grin on his face.

"The baby's coming, Amelia. You're doing great, babe." He murmured to her and kissed her forehead again. The doctor told her to push again and his brow raised when she told Amelia to grab the baby as it came out. How could she expect someone to do that while pushing a human being out of their own body?! But before he could argue the point, Amelia did just that, giving another big push and then she reached down, bringing the baby up to her chest. He immediately noticed the blue color and gasped, but then the baby cried out and that goofy grin was back on his face as Amelia worked to dry the baby off. The doctor reached in to help which was good cause Troy was frozen at this point, merely gazing at the baby in awe. She was so beautiful. His beautiful little girl. The doctor cut the cord and laid the baby on Amelia's chest and he just grinned down at her, his eyes twinkling with love and wonder. He didn't even notice the doctor and what she was doing by this point, too awe-inspired by Amelia holding the baby in her arms. He stroked her hair and leaned his head against her.

"Congratulations, baby. You're a mom now." He whispered softly. He didn't even look up as the doctor did some cleaning then showed herself out. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the two beings in front of him. She leaned back against him and announced that they had a daughter. He grinned again. "She's beautiful, Amelia. Just like you." Then she thanked him for being there and he shook his head, his face sobering a little as his brows furrowed. "There's nowhere else I'd rather be. This is where I belong, here with my family." He returned her kiss, pouring all of his love into it as he cradled her head gently with his hand.
