Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Troy was being serious about her having a fever and she felt bad for brushing it off. She honestly didn't know if vampires could have a fever. What was their normal body temperature to begin with? It wasn't like Amelia ever had a need to take her temperature before. He asked about doctor's and she shrugged. "Vampires never get sick...so I'm guessing there aren't vampire doctors." She had seen some vampires join the medical career path to help others, but never had a vampire needed medical assistance. Vampires simply did not get sick, they didn't have periods, they didn't do much of anything that humans did. They were immortal and infertile...or so Amelia assumed.

They move into the kitchen and she begins to heat up soup that she's not sure will even help. It worked for humans and it certainly worked in the movies, but she had no idea if it would work on her. She told him that one can would have been sufficient and he answered that there was a five for one sale. She knew it was bullshit, but she appreciated the act of kindness and kissed him softly in thanks.

As she worked on the soup, she felt his hands on her hips and she leaned back into him. It felt so natural with Troy. They were meant to be together, she just knew it. They may be of different species with different pasts, but they seemed so perfect for one another, against all odds. When he asked about doing something to feel useful, she laughed. "A bowl and some AB+ out of the fridge would be nice." She couldn't help the craving she had for blood. Despite having some before Troy got here, she felt as though she was constantly hungry...like her appetite for blood was insatiable. It worried her â€" she's never been like this before.

However, Amelia had stopped him before he could even make it to the refrigerator, much preferring to spend her time in his arms...that was until something sharp jabbed her in the stomach. She stepped back from him quickly, completely unsure of what was going on. It wasn't a very pleasant feeling and all it did was freak her out even more.

And then, she seated herself on the barstool, completely unloading her fears on him. She was so scared. She had never felt like this before and frankly, Troy was the only one she trusted enough to unload on. He seemed to be supporting, trying his best to help her out and make sure he was doing everything in his power. She began to talk about tumors and cancer and anything that might explain the hard, painful mass in her stomach that was causing her so much issue. She told him about her boobs, only glaring at him when he said a professional should check it out. "Troy...this isn't funny. I'm scared." Normally she would have just agreed, allowing him to feel her up and then have her way with him. But tonight...tonight she was too afraid to do much of anything.

When she mentioned how much she was craving blood, his blood, she felt her hand raise to run along his jugular. She sighed. "You know I don't like to feed off people...only when we're having sex because it such a turn on to us both." She offered him a smile before it slowly faded. "But this is different. I have this insatiable thirst like nothing truly satisfies me." Despite how much blood she was drinking, nothing seemed to fill her up. She kept craving blood. She supposed it was going straight for the tumor in her abdomen. Perhaps this tumor was sucking away blood and growing. But then a thought crossed her features. "Troy...my blood craving started the night we had sex the first time â€" could me drinking your blood have caused this?" She had never heard of something like this happening, but she had to wonder if she was having an allergic reaction to his blood or something along those lines. She hoped that wasn't the case. She rather enjoyed him and his blood.

She sighed as she looked down at the hand that still rested on the swollen buldge of her abdomen. And just when she felt another sharp jolt, Troy leapt from the barstool. The stool came crashing down onto the floor and she watched him stumble back. "You can feel that?" She was rather confused as to how her sharp abdominal pain could be felt by him. She was immediately worried that she had somehow hurt him or electrocuted him or did something harmful to him. She couldn't lose Troy...not now.

Eyes watched him as he looked from her abdomen to her...his eyes bright and wide. He looked like he had seen a ghost. "Troy...what is it?" She wasn't sure what he had felt, but she was worried. And then he was speaking, telling her that tumors didn't kick. "Kick? What do you mean ki...." And it was as if what little color her cheeks held drained quickly. Her eyes become just as bright and wide as his own as she felt herself stumble off the barstool. She tumbled backwards, catching herself on the kitchen counter. "How is that possible?" Last time she checked, she hadn't had a period since she was human. Not to mention, she had engaged in quite the wild sex life before meeting Troy...never once using any form of birth control. After all, she thought vampires were infertile. Wasn't that one of the perks (or curses...depending on who you talked to)?

Immediately, Amelia felt completely responsible and rather embarrassed. Her cheeks flushed pink as she tried to form words that her lips just refused to speak. "Troy...I didn't know..." She wasn't sure how to explain what happened. She felt bad that Troy had somehow been roped into this. Immediately, she wondered how angry Troy was with her.
