Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Kato Buhari

Perhaps there was something to be said for those who had had to deal with anger more often; maybe they were more adept at handling it. It wasn't to say Kato had never been angry before, but he had only loved one other as wholly as he did with Edie now. That sick twisted protective anger that flared within him at the mere prospect of losing her...losing his heart again. What would he have done? The very thought chilled the African. He was hurt because he thought this night was going to be theirs. He had spent so much time gathering funds and planning out a date to take her on when he had come to find the house empty the first time.

Kato hadn't meant to harm Edie in the way he grabbed her, his strength far more than he realized sometimes when handling her. He was usually so very careful in every touch; the only time he allowed himself to press his strength upon her was during their escapades. Though he hadn't meant to harm Edie, he had meant to scare her. He didn't know how else to reach her with the severity of what she had gone and done. His body felt like it was on fire as he paced, scolding Edie until he saw the tears forming in her eyes. The haze in her eyes and the slur in her speech from whatever stupor she had been in had eased away- reality returning to her now in this moment. "Then...why?" At least Kato had lowered his voice now, his tone now strained in simple attempt to understand why Edie had done what she did. "You haven't been healed for very long after our trip and you're already risking your life again." Still the image of his Edie battered and bloody on the burnt savannah earth had nearly wrecked him. She had jumped in front of the lion to save his little nephews. It had saved their lives, escaping with little more than scrapes and bruises, but the sheer power of the lion had done a lot of damage to Edie's petite frame.

It was only then when she shifted to grab at him as he paced, her mew calling his attention to her arm, did his face drop. The red marks there that would later turn to faint bruises caused him to falter. Despite Edie's attempt to grasp at his hand he stepped away from her. He had done that...he had caused her pain. He had turned from scolding her about her life risking choices to realizing her had marked her ...and not in a good way. "I...I should sleep in the backyard tonight." Kato didn't think he should be near her; for the first time he didn't trust his control over his strength with her. At least being in the backyard was still being close, he wasn't leaving her altogether, simply putting some space between them. Even though he spoke the words he didn't move away much further than a few paces back from the bed. He was being torn in so many direction, wanting to comfort her tears, upset at himself for marking her, and irritated at her for risking her life being with some male vampire having his lips on her and hers on him.
